  • Experience in the related field will get preference

  •  Enough knowledge and experience on maintaining cash book, banking, proper knowledge on VAT & Tax, vendor payment, maintaining accounts receivable, payable etc.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel and Sound knowledge in IT
  • Strong communication skills in English and Bengali (Oral and written)
  • Drafting, proofreading and editing skills
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
  • Willing to work under pressure/strict deadlines·
  • Reliability with patience and professionalism


Responsibilities & Context:

 Job Context

 Applications are invited from qualified and self-motivated candidates having sound knowledge in Accounts and Finance for the position of Deputy Director ( Finance and Accounts) on prevailing terms and conditions of USTC.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • To prepare annual budgets and forecasts.
  • To monitor expenditure against budget allocations.
  • To suggest management on financial planning and resource allocation.
  • To oversee general accounting functions, including ledgers, assets, liabilities, income, and expenditure.
  • To ensure timely closure of books of accounts (monthly/quarterly/annually).
  • To supervise maintenance of financial records in accordance with statutory and institutional requirements.
  • To prepare and present financial statements, balance sheets, and income & expenditure reports.
  • To submit reports to management, regulatory bodies, and funding agencies, as and when necessary;
  • To ensure timely audit of accounts and implement audit recommendations.
  • To ensure compliance with financial rules, government regulations and institutional policies.
  • To monitor procurement processes to ensure adherence to financial and institutional norms
  • To ensure timely vendor payments and manage payroll disbursements.
  • To manage institutional bank accounts and fund flows.
  • To supervise staff of accounts and finance dept and ensure capacity building.
  • To coordinate with other departments for financial matters.
  • To ensure smooth functioning of the finance/accounts division.
  • To assist in formulating and updating financial policies.
  • To represent the department in financial committees, bodies, etc.  
  • To monitor department-wise budget utilization;
  • To prepare and deliver various analytical reports as required by the authority.
