Job Context:
∎ Violent events in Rakhine State of Myanmar, starting in August 2017, led to the displacement of 909.774 Rohingya men, women and children towards Cox’s Bazar district in Bangladesh. The mass and speed of the displacement created an acute humanitarian crisis. People arrived with very little belongings and all basic needs are to be met. Beyond water, sanitation, shelter, food and health, protection is an important issue to address notably when it comes to children: they potentially suffered the most from the dramatic events which happened in Myanmar and during the cross-border journey to Bangladesh and they are now the most vulnerable in the refugee camps where living conditions are particularly harsh. The displaced population counts 55% of children between 5 and 17 years old. Of the 209 847 families present in the camp, 31% of the families have been identified with at least one protection vulnerability.
∎ In response to this humanitarian crisis, Tdh seeks to deliver integrated services and support to children in Cox’s Bazar through provisions of psychosocial support to refugee children, youth and adults and targeted child protection services to the most vulnerable children, including children affected by family separation.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Key responsibilities :
∎ Conduct regular staff training need assessments of child protection teams, including community volunteers, and other staff to be trained in CP mainstreaming, Psychosocial support and community based protection.
∎ Develop the staff capacity building plan responding to regular needs assessment in coordination with the CP coordinator and team leader and the supervision of the training officers.
∎ Support to develop and update individual training file for each staff that tracks attended trainings either internal or external according to each individual need assessment and response plan.
∎ Provide support to Child protection Coordinator in designing modules and tools relating to activities aiming to build the capacity of the CP Team and local actors (i.e. inputs on contents and methods of delivery) and support in conducting the trainings/sessions if needed
∎ Liaise regularly with CP coordinator and National Coordinators on training and development needs of child protection teams to meet the needs of projects
∎ Support to develop a Dropbox toolkit as to store and regularly update all the resources used for and in trainings in coordination with CP Coordinator including establish and maintain a corner resource library in Tdh office
∎ Maintain regular flow of communication with Child Protection Coordinator and program managers to ensure that the delivery of trainings is planed based on the needs of the projects’ and agreed upon a common workplan.
∎ Exchange information with his/her line manager on a regular basis and assist with circulating information following normal communication channels.
∎ Identifies and maintain extensive training resource (list of training institutions, list of consultants, training venues etc.) and logistic preparation prior sending Tdh staffs to external trainings
∎ Identifying training venues, collecting information regarding potential costs arising from internal and external training opportunities and promptly inform CP CB manager.
∎ Maintain open and professional relations with team members, promoting a strong team spirit and providing oversight and guidance to enable staff to successfully perform in their positions
∎ Support to CP Coordinator in reporting to donors through both formal and informal briefings, annual, semi-annual, monthly and weekly reports, and maintain ongoing dialogue
∎ Lead and support the training officers in organizing training in the community and camps
∎ Maintain and strengthen the relations with the other organizations dealing with capacity building
∎ Lead the training officers to ensure proper monitoring of the PSS activities and on the job coaching for the PSS facilitators
∎ Child Protection
∎ Ensure that the project activities are integrated in humanitarian coordination practices and guidelines and the Bangladeshi child protection system.
∎ Identify and propose trainings related to child protection principles and best practices.
∎ Ensure that her/his team respects confidentiality of data (including paper and electronic files).
∎ Staff management
∎ Support the development of and follow up on weekly planning for staff under her/his responsibility.
∎ Follow up attendances, leaves and monthly attendance sheets to facilitate payroll process.
∎ Ensure regular feedback to the staff under her/his responsibility and participate in the appraisal process when needed.
∎ Strive to develop and maintain a positive working atmosphere, provide encouragement and praise to caseworkers for good work.
∎ Support disciplinary measures application if needed.
∎ Identify needs and support the planning of capacity building for the caseworkers under her/his responsibility.

∎ Agree to comply with Tdh Code of Conduct and ensure Child Safeguarding standards are upheld.
∎ Adhere to and ensure that the team under her/his responsibility follows Tdh administrative and logistical regulations and procedures.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Basic IT knowledge (Microsoft Office, Internet, Excel)
∎ Previous experience with a child protection organization
∎ Very good knowledge of key child protection issues and best practices
∎ Very good knowledge of the child protection system in Bangladesh
∎ Strong interpersonal and social skills
∎ Leadership and management skills
∎ Strong technical and critical analysis abilities
∎ Well-developed organizational skills
∎ Required qualities: compassionate, empathetic, motivated, proactive, autonomous, rigorous, organized.
∎ Fluent in English and Bangla.
∎ Knowledge of Rohingya is mandatory

Salary: Tk. 86000 (Monthly)
