Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Job Summary:
∎ The Cost Accountant is responsible for analyzing, tracking, and managing the costs associated with the production and distribution of goods and services within the organization. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring accurate financial reporting and providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making.
∎ Key Responsibilities:
∎ Cost Analysis:
∎ 1. Analyze production cost, material cost, operational cost and overhead expenses.
∎ 2. Monitor and report on variances between actual costs and standard costs.
∎ 3. Conduct regular cost reviews to identify cost-saving opportunities.
∎ Cost Reporting:
∎ 1. Prepare detailed cost reports for management review.
∎ 2. Provide cost information for budgeting and forecasting purposes.
∎ 3. Collaborate with other departments to gather relevant cost data.
∎ 4. Ensure buyer wise profitability analysis.
∎ Conduct order/style wise post costing variance analysis.
∎ Inventory Management:
∎ 1. Track and reconcile inventory costs.
∎ 2. Assist in developing and implementing inventory management procedures.
∎ 3. Conduct periodic inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
∎ Financial Analysis:
∎ 1. Assist in the preparation of financial statements.
∎ 2. Analyze financial data to identify trends and patterns.
∎ Process Improvement:
∎ 1. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance cost efficiency.
∎ 2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline cost-related processes.
∎ 3. Stay updated on industry best practices and recommend relevant changes.
∎ 4. Productivity analysis.
∎ Compliance:
∎ 1. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
∎ 2. Assist in preparing documentation for audits.
∎ 3. Work closely with the finance team to address any compliance issues.
