Job Responsibilities:
∎ Key responsibilities of the service are:
∎ In collaboration with Neurosurgery, Orthopedics and Radiology provision of MSK between Primary and Secondary care Provision of physiotherapy care to a diverse range of clinical conditions and patient types in a variety of environments across community settings. Service management, planning and development within a defined budget and multidisciplinary framework. Development, implementation and management of a Clinical Governance Strategy.
∎ Expert Clinical Practice:
∎ Manage a complex clinical caseload, including listing patients for routine orthopedic surgery as appropriate, act as an expert resource and role model within the Advanced Physiotherapy Practice service for specialized Physiotherapeutic management.
∎ Act as an expert clinical and professional resource at local, regional and national level, working with colleagues in other professions to develop and promote the role of Advance Physiotherapy Practice for patients with MSK conditions, including advising Multi-disciplinary teams.
∎ Lead on development of evidence based clinical protocols and policies within management of MSK conditions to improve outcomes of interventions for Physiotherapists, GPs, Secondary care and patients.
∎ Negotiate with clinical colleagues to achieve appropriate interventions for the benefit of patients (e.g., organizing an urgent investigation or intervention for a patient with a serious clinical issue).
∎ Demonstrate skills and knowledge to request, interpret and act upon the results of diagnostic tests within the Professional Scope of Practice for Chartered Physiotherapists.
∎ Operational Management
∎ Strategic and operational management of the MSK service to maximize efficiency and achieve desired quality of care ensuring appropriate use of resources within a defined delegated budget.
∎ Strategically plan and implement future MSK service development, including ongoing demand and capacity analysis and present reports to stakeholders, Clinical Service Managers, Senior Management Team.
∎ Investigate, respond and take appropriate action in response to complaints verbal and written, within MSK Pathways service.
∎ Staff management of Pathway Leads guaranteeing Performance Management and Personal Development Planning in line with existing policies.

∎ Professional Training & Experience: Doctoral/ Post Graduate Master’s degree in Musculoskeletal Management preferred
∎ Degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy leading to Registration with the Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council (BMDC).
∎ Significant experience at expert clinical level assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions including at an “Advanced Practice” role.
∎ Completion of relevant, recognized, specialist clinical skills training e.g., certificated success in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy/ Orthopedic Medicine with injection therapy qualification. E.g.
∎ Masters/PGD
∎ Completion of relevant training in management and strategic leadership or equivalent demonstrable
