Experience

  • Minimum 2–5 years of relevant teaching experience, preferably in an English Medium school.

  • Experience teaching Edexcel Computer Science or ICT will be an advantage.

  • Practical experience in programming, coding, computer laboratory activities, and educational technology will be highly desirable.

  • Candidates with strong subject knowledge, practical skills, and relevant teaching competencies may also be considered.

Responsibilities & Context:

Methodist English Medium School (MEMS), a programme of Bangladesh Methodist Church Trust, invites applications from qualified, committed, enthusiastic, and student-focused professionals for the position of Computer/ICT Teacher to teach students from Std. VI to X.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured, practical, and age-appropriate Computer/ICT lessons in accordance with the relevant Cambridge/Edexcel curriculum.

  • Ensure learning through fun by using engaging, student-centred, and age-appropriate teaching methodologies that make Computer/ICT learning interesting, practical, meaningful, and relevant to students’ everyday lives and the digital world.

  • Develop students’ digital literacy, computational thinking, problem-solving, logical reasoning, and ICT skills.

  • Teach students the practical and theoretical aspects of Computer Science, Information and Communication Technology, digital tools, and emerging technologies as appropriate to their level.

  • Develop students’ understanding of programming, algorithms, computational thinking, data handling, computer systems, networks, and digital applications as required by the curriculum.

  • Plan and conduct hands-on practical activities, projects, coding exercises, demonstrations, and technology-based learning activities.

  • Prepare effective lesson plans, teaching materials, worksheets, assignments, practical tasks, projects, and assessments.

  • Use appropriate digital platforms, educational software, multimedia resources, and technology-based teaching tools to enhance learning.

  • Assess students’ progress through classwork, practical work, assignments, projects, class tests, examinations, and other appropriate assessment methods.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date academic, assessment, and student progress records.

  • Identify students’ individual learning needs and provide appropriate academic support, guidance, and enrichment.

  • Encourage students to participate in coding activities, ICT projects, technology competitions, innovation programmes, and other relevant co-curricular activities.

  • Promote responsible and ethical use of technology, including digital citizenship, online safety, data privacy, cybersecurity awareness, and responsible digital behaviour.

  • Maintain a safe, organized, inclusive, and stimulating computer laboratory and learning environment.

  • Ensure the proper use and care of computers, ICT equipment, software, and other digital resources.

  • Collaborate with colleagues and participate actively in departmental, academic, co-curricular, and school-wide activities.

  • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding students’ academic progress and development when required.

  • Uphold the school’s policies, professional standards, safeguarding requirements, and institutional values.

  • Demonstrate commitment to continuous professional development and keeping abreast of emerging technologies and innovative teaching practices.

  • Perform other academic, co-curricular, and professional responsibilities assigned by the School Authority.
