Experience:
Excellent proficiency in English is a must.
3 years of working experience in the Rohingya response and training in the CHWs Core Package will be preferred.
Ability to cope with stress working in a camp environment.
Good command of the Chitagonian/Rohingya language as an asset.
Flexibility to perform other tasks and take initiative when required.Cultural awareness/sensitivity and empathy to the target population.
Job Location: Bhasanchar/ Teknaf/Ukhiya
Capacity building of CHWs/CHNWs/ CNVs through on-the-job training and feedback as per the CHWs/CHNWs training calendar, and demand basis.
Shadow visits with CHWs/CHNWs/ CNVs at the household level at least 2 days a week maintaining a unique checklist (CHWs/CHNWs/ CNVs).
Home visits with CHWs/CHNWs to households that has several vulnerable sick members to improve household base care and practices at the household level and create awareness through individual or group counseling on preventive aspects of diseases.
Organize orientation to the community forums on priority health topics as and when required under the guidance of the Facility Manager and CHWs/CHNWs/ CNVs /Health Sector.
Aggregate on a daily/weekly basis and monitor collected forms (Mortality, referrals, livebirth, Nutritional Screening) and improve the way for reporting and recording.
Conduct weekly health education sessions with CHWs/CHNWs/ CNVs based on the CHWs/CHNWs/ CNVs guidelines, and mentor sessions at the community level twice a month.
Assist the CHWs/CHNWs/ CNVs who have emergency patients and send them to the clinician for emergency treatment and care.
Coordinate and support CHWs/CHNWs/ CNVs to work with different units of the health center and other relevant sectors for health education, defaulter tracing, and referrals.
Ensure the use of IEC materials for conducting regular health education sessions
Organize and facilitate a regular monthly meeting with other outreach workers in the camp
Help improve the working quality of CHWs/CHNWs/ CNVs.
Lead the discussion of a weekly meeting with CHWs/CHNWs/ CNVs who share their concerns and interesting findings. Record the information that CHWs/CHNWs/ CNVs shared.
Help in solving the problems that CHWs/CHNWs/ CNVs raise in the meeting.
Implement the task as per the CHWs/CHNWs/ CNVs / Health Sector guidance.
Ensure Follow-Up of Patients: Ensure regular follow-up of Hepatitis C patients and facilitate necessary care and support.
Raise Awareness: Mobilize CHWs to raise public awareness about Hepatitis C prevention, transmission risks, and treatment opportunities.
Facilitate Screening and Testing: Identify and promptly bring suspected Hepatitis C cases under appropriate screening and testing programs and ensure effective linkage to diagnostic facilities for timely detection.
Ensure Access to Treatment: Coordinate to ensure confirmed Hepatitis C patients are brought under the necessary treatment programs. Collaborate with healthcare providers to facilitate patient access to treatment and care.
Maintain Patient Records: Maintain a detailed registry of suspected and confirmed Hepatitis C cases for effective follow-up and reporting.
Reporting and Coordination: Submit necessary reports on Hepatitis C awareness, testing, and treatment activities to relevant authorities. Collaborate with laboratories to coordinate follow-up actions for individuals with positive test results.
Support CHWs: Provide training and guidance to CHWs on identifying symptoms, educating communities, and linking patients to healthcare services. This description ensures that CHW Supervisors actively contribute to the prevention, detection, and management of Hepatitis C in their communities.
Special Note:
Carry out any additional assignment in accordance with her/his position entrusted by the Clinic Manager and Community Health Coordinator of GK from time to time and mutually agreed upon;
Management may, at any point in time, modify this job description as it is deemed necessary in Gonoshasthaya Kendra`s interests in consultation with the incumbent.
Due to the emergency response nature of GK`s work, hours of work may vary, and employees should be flexible in approaching hours of work in emergency conditions.
The employee must respect the timetable, terms, and conditions of Gonoshasthaya Kendra and should always be available to respond to an emergency.
