Job Context:
∎ This position will be primarily responsible to support the capture, processing, documenting, and help disseminating communication materials (digital, printed, and others) related to the USAID Ecosystems/Protibesh Activity (Activity) and help the Activity in telling its stories in various formats with focus on its approaches, innovations, and its impact. These approaches cover the co-management of critical ecosystems, innovative monitoring systems, conservation financing, behavior change, environmental compliant business operations, and others. This position is part of the Activity`s communication team led by the Communication and Advocacy Manager.
∎ Period of Performance: This is a long-term position with duration depending on needs and available resources.
∎ Location of Assignment: This position will be based in the USAID Ecosystems/Protibesh Dhaka office with travel to Activity sites as required.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ The specific tasks of the Communications Associate include the following:
∎ Work closely with the Communications and Advocacy Manager in developing and implementing the Activity's communication strategy and annual workplan for communications asset production, dissemination, and monitoring.
∎ Provide support with managing USAID branding strategy and marking of all communication materials and ensure they comply with the USAID requirements.
∎ Provide support in developing content and design of the communication products in accordance with the branding, marking, and marketing standards of USAID and Chemonics International, with focus on communicating the Activity approach externally and impact stories to USAID and partners.
∎ Maintain a database of project-related videos, photographs, social media threads, newspaper clippings; and scripts and transcripts of radio and television programs related to the activities, and copies of project reports and other documents.
∎ Actively participate in the organization of Activity events, conferences, workshops, focus groups, trainings, and other activities to capture communication opportunities,
∎ Contribute to the Activity's progress reports and other deliverables.
∎ Performs other duties and responsibilities as required under the direction of the Communication and Advocacy Manager and/or the Activities Chief of Party.
Additional Requirements:
∎ To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The qualifications listed below are representative of the required knowledge, skills, and/or abilities needed to perform the principal duties.
∎ At least 3 years of relevant professional experience or at a minimum a successfully completed internship with USAID Ecosystems/Protibesh.
∎ Prior experience with USAID funded programs highly preferred.
∎ Ability to work in a team and independently with minimal supervision.
∎ Demonstrated advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
∎ Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communications skills, with demonstrated diplomacy and the ability to communicate effectively in a cross-cultural environment.
∎ Fluency in written/spoken English.
∎ Strong ability to concisely communicate approaches, impact, and others Activity related communication opportunities in written format using the Activity's communication channels in both English and Bangla. '
