Educational Requirements:
∎ Bachelor's Degree plus 8 years or a Master's degree plus 6 years' experience in the communications and business development / fundraising industry
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 5 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Lead the development of the project strategy for private sector engagement in collaboration with home office staff, project team, and the Government of Bangladesh
∎ Identify existing organizations or institutions that can serve as venues for contacting and engaging potential private sector or civil society actors
∎ Identify possible partners and areas for collaboration and cooperation
∎ Work with private sector partners to identify and facilitate ways in which they can support Shobai Miley Shikhi programming and inclusive education in Bangladesh
∎ Ensure that private contributions to Shobai Miley Shikhi are tracked and reported as per donor reporting requirements
∎ Develop, implement, monitor, and adapt comprehensive strategic communication plan for Shobai Miley Shikhi
∎ Conduct and maintain an active media outreach campaign to raise awareness of the Activity
∎ Plan for and regularly develop content for radio, television, print and electronic media
∎ Assist in the planning, development, and distribution of a Social Behavior Change Communication Campaign
∎ Provide news releases to radio, television, and electronic media; liaise with media personnel to publicize as appropriate.
∎ Assist in preparing weekly, quarterly, and annual reports and other Project-related documentation.
∎ Work with technical managers to write success stories, lessons learned, and activity reports.
∎ Develop other communication tools (newsletters, pamphlets, project briefs)
∎ Identify appropriate ways to publicize and disseminate project related information and materials; design and develop project materials and publications (e.g., case studies, presentations).
∎ Work closely with other team members to gather and synthesize project related technical information and data.
∎ Translate/write information data into suitable language for a lay audience as appropriate.
∎ Assure USAID and project branding and marking guidelines are adhered to in all project documents, reports, communications, publications, and products.
∎ Contribute to the development and preparation of annual work plans, quarterly reports and other reports to USAID, edit documents.
∎ Develop or support the development of information graphics.
∎ Promote knowledge sharing through the organization's processes, systems, and departments/units by helping develop and strengthen links between them to facilitate exchange of information.
∎ Ensure USAID and project branding and marking guidelines are adhered to in all project communications, publications, and products.
∎ Perform other tasks as assigned by the MERLA Director
Additional Requirements:
∎ Five years' experience designing and successfully implementing communication strategies and media outreach events
∎ Proven track record of building and sustaining effective partnerships, advocating effectively, and communicating to various audiences
∎ Demonstrated knowledge of USAID branding guidelines
∎ Experience with USAID or other major donors preferred
∎ Videography/photography skills required
∎ Experience developing SBCC material preferred
∎ Familiarity with, and comprehension of, core concepts in inclusive education, early reading, or education sector public-private partnerships
∎ Commitment to inclusive programming that encourages full participation of individuals regardless of gender, disability status, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity or other marginalized status
∎ Ability to communicate effectively in a cross-cultural environment
∎ Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
∎ Excellent coordination and organizational skills
∎ Strong interpersonal and communications skill
∎ Ability to work in a team environment.
∎ Excellent oral and written fluency in English and Bangla is required.
