Job Context:
∎ Duration: Duration of the contract will be up to 31st December, 2025.
∎ Position Title: Climate Resilience and Risk Reduction Officer under Improved Food Security Through Promotion of Climate Resilient Livelihoods and Disaster Preparedness for Communities in Chattogram and Cox`s Bazaar Districts Project.
∎ Job Location: Field Offices in Chakaria and Shitakunda.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Provide DRR & CCA Kits for strengthening Risk Reduction & Adaptation Capacity as per HH adaptation plans for 6000 HHs.
∎ Provide DRR and Adaptive kit/materials for SHG and CBOs for demonstration of self-initiatives for replication
∎ Provide kit/materials for school based DRR & CCA initiatives led by students
∎ Organize Multi-day orientation to differ-ent batches on wellbeing analysis and HH adaptation plan
∎ Organize training & technical support for formation of disaster management committees
∎ Provide Multi-days training, ToT and workshops for CRA. ToT for DMC members,
∎ Provide Orientation on CRA process for UDMC members in four batches
∎ Organize Multi-days' workshops for UDMC members, Group work for developing RRAP
∎ Organize Multi-days training on multiple issues related to DRR, CCA, SOD.
∎ Organize Monthly meetings as per plan
∎ Orientation and meeting with SMC, students and teacher for formation of the committee
∎ Organize Advocacy workshop with government agencies, INGOs, donors and relevant stakeholders
∎ Provide training to the beneficiaries in disaster preparedness, mitigation and response, climate adaptive livelihood options, and on other issues as per project plan
∎ Ensure the proper reporting of the project
∎ Area and target group selection for program operation
∎ Conduct survey and study to explore the real situation, problems and needs of the area and provide information with recommendations to the management
∎ Assist with the planning and implementation of project activities and logistical arrangements
∎ Select issue for awareness rising and make action plan
∎ Organize the community and make them aware on different social issues through conducting issue based discussion sessions at community level
∎ Assist the community to select their problems and to implement action plans
∎ Provide support to the project team in all the required tasks
∎ Prepare activities report regularly
∎ Perform any other jobs where and when necessary as per direction of the management.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Preference will be given to the candidates having valid Motorcycle driving license
∎ Experience working in the NGO sector
∎ Well -developed analytical skills and the ability to absorb information quickly;
∎ Highly organized, reliable attention to detail and ability to work independently when needed;
∎ Excellent inter-personal skills, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working atmosphere
∎ Good working relationships with colleagues, partners, external actors and allies and satisfactory communication and inter-personal skills.
∎ Advanced computer skills;
∎ Ability to work under-pressure, meet deadlines, priorities workload and 'multi-task';
∎ Analytical skills and decision- making ability even in complex and sensitive situations
∎ Multi-cultural awareness an ability to work independently with minimal supervision
