Job Context:
∎ It is a renowned IT company in Bangladesh which is a sister concern of a Group of Companies. The company is currently serving many local, government, and international clients in terms of Software Development, System Integration, solution implementation, business process management, and IT learning & development. Moreover, the company is also contributing to the digital transformation of all other business units of the entire Group from different industries including RMG, Pharma, Clothing Retail, Real Estate, etc.
∎ The proposed position of Chief Technological Officer (CTO) will be responsible for driving all technological initiatives at the organization. CTO will be accountable for leading the Technology team and delivering complex strategic, technological, and growth projects with the goal of gaining customer confidence (internal and external) and operational excellence.
∎ The core responsibility of the CTO is to focus on large-scale, technological opportunities in the context of in-house and external markets. The incumbent will work closely with senior leadership and management stakeholders to prioritize and align business opportunities with the strategic goals of the company and then deliver on those opportunities in line with the expected timeline. This individual is expected to lead, execute, and implement change and share ownership with senior leadership for achieving goals and objectives for these projects.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Lead all units under the technology team including Software design, development, implementation, project & product management, quality assurance & maintenance operations.
∎ Supervising and guiding the tech team to ensure all deliverables are met on time. These include software design and development, enterprise architecture, quality assurance and testing, production operations, and technical support, network and systems administration, client management, and information security management.
∎ Develop a technology strategy for the organization in line with the short-term and long-term business goals.
∎ Working closely with the business team to set a technology adoption strategy for the organization which will be offered to the market.
∎ Support the business team by architecting and designing any complex technology solution requirement which has potential business opportunities. This will include rigorous R&D of existing open-source/ licensed solutions, integration, and customization.
∎ Evaluating new technology and making recommendations on technological solutions for further growth of the organization.
∎ Ensuring agile development methodology is being followed in order to distribute the scope among the team members.
∎ Ensuring that technology resources meet on-time and quality software delivery.
∎ Research any new technology that may potentially increase our organization’s competitive advantage.
∎ Taking executive decisions on behalf of the organization’s technological requirements.
∎ Being a mentor and guide for the technical team members and working closely with them for solving any technical problem.
∎ Lead the R&D and technology team to ensure that the organization is always positioned to execute its R&D roadmap.
∎ Identify skill gaps and improvement areas and set a learning and development roadmap for each technology resource in line with the organizational objectives.
∎ Work closely with HRD to establish tech resource selection and onboarding strategy and ensure the resource pipeline as per the organizational objective.
∎ Maintaining a customer service mindset and ensuring customer feedback is incorporated into the product/project delivery.
∎ Supervising quality assurance processes, integration, and system tests.
∎ Establishing software development process with available resources and ensuring optimum utilization of the resources to achieve deliverable targets.
∎ Ensuring smart team management, empathetic leadership, and skill development of the team members.
∎ Roll out KPI-based Performance Management culture to the technology department. These would include introducing policies and processes which are globally exercised by all IT companies.
∎ Any other task as assigned by the appropriate authority.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 30 years
∎ Need to have at least 10+ years of experience in any renowned IT company (software development) in Bangladesh out of which 5+ Years have to be in a CTO role or Head of Technology role or similar position.
∎ Must have experience in leading a team of IT professionals, ensuring IT project delivery, leading R&D for new products and services, and supporting business teams with technology solutions as per client demand.
∎ Must have extensive analytical ability on next-generation technologies.
