∎ A sharp, knowledgeable Finance professional with over 20-25 years of experience, with a minimum of 10-15 years in Container Liner Shipping with Global Organizations as CFO/Head of Finance.
∎ The ideal candidate would be well exposed in Finance & Accounting, Taxation, Audit, ERP, Regulatory, Legal, Company Law & Compliance areas from a strategic perspective,
∎ SAP expertise is a must.
∎ Should have exposure to working closely with top management for holistic macro level developments & expansion of Organizations, new projects, etc. Ability to think strategically and to provide strategic leadership.
∎ The candidate must have excellent communication skills & networking abilities.
∎ Very good Shipping Knowledge - both commercial and operational.
∎ Dynamic go-getter with a very good command of written and spoken English.
∎ Have a well-organized, analytical, and structured business approach.
∎ Excellent leadership quality.

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Lead the Finance & Accounting division for all compliances, reporting, etc. with local authorities, Management & Board of Directors.
∎ Be well-versed with applicable local laws & ensure all regulatory obligations are met.
∎ Facilitate statutory & other audit functions.
∎ Prepare Budgets for the company.
∎ Conduct Board Meetings & AGM.
∎ Ensure statutory obligations & ensure all inward/outward remittances are as per local laws.
∎ Assist the CEO / Board of Directors in various strategic matters, projects, etc.
∎ Ensuring Direct and Indirect Taxes compliance in Bangladesh - monthly, quarterly, and annual.
∎ Should be able to handle any Direct and indirect Tax litigation.
∎ Formulation of transfer pricing strategies.
∎ Finalization of accounts as per local law in Bangladesh.
∎ General Ledger Accounting for the entity.
∎ Preparation of Annual Budget for the entity.
∎ Monthly and Quarterly Closing of these entities.
∎ Ensuring that collection targets are fulfilled.
∎ Treasury Management.
∎ Manage and liaise with Internal and Statutory Auditor.
∎ Setting up business processes and ensuring adherence to the same.
∎ Working on process improvement with the technical team of the Principal for global alignment.
∎ Evaluate the business and tax risk.
∎ Ensuring compliance and corporate governance are compiled by all processes.
∎ Ensuring liquidity projected at the month-end is achieved.
∎ Ensuring profitability through effective cost management.
∎ Ensure MIS reporting including daily, weekly, and monthly reporting as per requirements of Principal.
∎ Monitoring all litigations involving the Company.
∎ Conducting Board Meetings, AGM, and ensuring compliance with the Companies Act of Bangladesh.
∎ Hapag Lloyd, Bangladesh Private Limited a joint venture entity representing the German Shipping conglomerate, Hapag Lloyd AG as an agent in Bangladesh is currently looking to hire a "Chief Financial Officer" who will be responsible for leading the finance, accounting, business operations, taxation and regulatory compliances in Bangladesh for the organization. The CFO must also be a strong leader and communicator, able to work closely with the CEO and other members of the executive team, as well as with the company's Board of Directors. The CFO will also be responsible for managing and leading the financial initiatives of the company.
