The Head of Civil Engineering / Chief Engineer is responsible for planning, managing, and overseeing all civil engineering activities related to the company's real estate development projects. This includes project planning, design coordination, construction supervision, quality control, cost management, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget while maintaining regulatory compliance and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Execution
Lead the planning and execution of all civil engineering works for real estate projects.
Develop project timelines, construction schedules, and resource plans.
Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
2. Engineering Management
Manage and supervise the civil engineering team including project managers, site engineers, and supervisors.
Review engineering drawings, technical specifications, and structural designs.
Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, consultants, and contractors.
3. Construction Supervision
Oversee construction activities at project sites.
Ensure adherence to approved designs, construction standards, and safety regulations.
Monitor progress and resolve technical issues during construction.
4. Quality Assurance
Implement quality control systems for materials and construction work.
Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with building codes and standards.
Ensure high construction quality across all projects.
5. Cost Control & Budget Management
Prepare and monitor project budgets.
Review BOQ, cost estimates, and contractor quotations.
Control project costs and minimize financial risks.
6. Regulatory Compliance
Ensure projects comply with local construction regulations, permits, and environmental requirements.
Coordinate with government authorities for approvals and inspections.
7. Vendor & Contractor Management
Evaluate and select contractors, suppliers, and consultants.
Monitor contractor performance and ensure contractual compliance.
8. Reporting
Provide regular project updates to senior management.
Prepare technical reports, progress reports, and risk assessments.
