Responsibilities & Context:
∎ The Head Nurse is responsible for overseeing the nursing staff and ensuring the highest quality of patient care. This role involves supervising staff, managing resources, and fostering a professional and supportive environment for both patients and healthcare providers.
∎ Complete nursing care must be ensured maintaining a high standard which may include - Vitals checking, Recording ECG, IV Cannulation, IV infusion, Suctioning, Nebulization, Specimen collection, Oxygen administration, etc·
∎ Must ensure correct sample and correct labeling of sample collection for each patient·
∎ Perform nursing assessments, including physical assessments, health screenings, and medication reconciliation, to identify patient needs and concerns·
∎ Administer medications, treatments, and prescribed therapies according to physician orders and established protocols, ensuring accurate dosing, administration routes, and patient safety·
∎ Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to ethical principles, professional standards, and legal regulations governing nursing practice·
∎ Prepare duty roster as per the requirement·
∎ Oversee staff by appropriately delegating tasks based on patient needs, and cultivate an environment conducive to learning.
∎ Monitor and ensure the prudent use of supplies to prevent waste. Guarantee that adequate supplies and equipment are always available for the unit to function smoothly.
∎ Must maintain professionalism·
∎ Must ensure that the nursing code of conduct and the policies are strictly followed by all staff members·
∎ Responsible for conducting unit meetings and training sessions·
∎ Ensure accurate and complete assessment of all patients·
∎ Perform every task assigned with complete diligence
