• Expertise in business assessment, modeling and planning, financial planning, value chain development, and strategies for scaling enterprises.
• Excellent communication skills in both English and Bangla, with the ability to engage effectively across diverse stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, demonstrating a practical, solutions-oriented approach.
• Proficiency in IT, with experience managing and analyzing business data using customized apps, Excel, or Google Sheets. Familiarity with data visualization tools or project management software would be an asset.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team and manage multiple stakeholders effectively.
• Experience in promoting women’s economic empowerment, inclusive business models, or climate-resilient enterprise development.
• Experience in blended finance mechanisms, impact investing, or public-private partnership development.
• Knowledge of the South Asian investment and development landscape, particularly in Bangladesh.
• Experience in working with non-profit organization and community-based development.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in enterprise and entrepreneur development, social enterprise management, SME support, or market systems development.
• Minimum 2 years of managerial experience in any business or enterprises.

Job Context:

PARI Development Trust is a national NGO registered with NGOAB working in greater Mymensingh. PARI implements community development, maternal & child health, nutrition, food Security livelihood, agriculture and child rights program in several Upazilas of Mymensingh, Jamalpur, Sherpur, Netrokona and Sunamganj districts.

PARI is implementing a project named “Making the Markets work for the Last Mile(M4L)” in Jamalpur District. This project focuses on engaging marginal male and female farmers with agricultural activities using sustainable agriculture methods to meet their basic needs and nutrition as well as increase production, income and agro-based income generating activities for the well-being of their family and community and thus transform their lives as a long-term impact in Jamalpur District

The Project seeks a Business Manager to lead the social enterprise by identifying and creating new business opportunities and drive to achieve expected results through effective implementation.

Job Location: Particularly Jamalpur, Satkhira and Mymensingh based in Dhaka TAI office.

Job Responsibilities:

The Business Manager will be responsible for driving the growth of social enterprises by identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities, exploring untapped markets, and developing innovative strategies that foster sustainable business models with measurable social and environmental impacts.

This pivotal role will manage PARI’s pilot enterprise initiatives by providing strategic and technical guidance to its flagship project, Making Markets Work for the Last Mile (M4L) in Jamalpur along with a dedicated M4L team under leadership of a Program Manager. While recruited under PARI’s portfolio, the role will be based in Dhaka at TAI’s South Asia Office. The Manager will also work closely with the TAI South Asia Lead to assist in designing innovative enterprise models, exploring blended finance opportunities, and strengthening TAI’s broader network of social enterprises across Bangladesh.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic and technical guidance to the M4L project team, focusing on enterprise and entrepreneur development, and business model innovation.
• Lead the value chain development, business planning, marketing strategies, and financial sustainability initiatives for target enterprises.
• Build the capacity of project staff through training and mentoring.
• Conduct regular project visits to monitor and ensure that enterprise operations are progressing as planned.
• Manage the collection, analysis, and reporting of business data to support effective monitoring of enterprise-related outcomes and impact.
• Organize and facilitate visits for visitors and impact investors to showcase enterprise initiatives.
• Contribute to knowledge exchange among TAI partners by documenting, synthesizing, and sharing best practices and lessons learned.
• Contribute to the development of concept notes, business plans, investment pitches, and funding proposals to attract blended finance, catalytic funding, and/or impact investment.
