Job Context:
∎ Under this TRTA, there is a requirement to develop an improved monitoring and reporting system for the Department of Social Services (DSS). This targets the generation of real-time Management Information System (MIS) reports via some short-term interventions that can be made by the ADB within the existing budget until a broader implementation work happens in terms of enhanced MIS and equipment of the safety net scheme under DSS. This proposal includes implementation of a Business Intelligence (BI) tool to be used by the selected officials for daily or periodical monitoring from the central headquarter in Dhaka with the following facilities:
∎
∎ One BI server installed in a desktop workstation which would be available 24/7 from the internal network of DSS or from any remote location which would have read-only access to the database (DB) of the DSS MIS
∎ One BI Engineer/ Specialist having database/ BI expertise of around 5 years can be selected and at least two data entry operators are to be associated with this support to serve the purposes of the DSS officials.
∎ Training of the officers in DSS on use of the BI tool for reports is to be conducted.
∎ In order to deliver this requirement, Ecorys UK would like to recruit one BI Engineer. These roles will be full-time and will work within the DSS.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Install and maintain BI tools, data analytics and big data repositories.
∎ Integrate with front and back end programming, APIs and mobile applications as and when necessary.
∎ Train GoB officers and staff in using BI/ reporting tools, BI/ database server and related equipment.
∎ Produce various customized and ad hoc reports and analyze in line with the requirements from the users.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Good knowledge in SQL (e.g. MSSQL Server, MySQL, PGSQL, Oracle, Access or like), NoSQL/ Network databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, Neo4j etc.) and BI engines (e.g. PowerBI, Metabase, Tableau, OBIEE etc.) is a must.
∎ At least 5 years of professional experience in database design, business analytics and software implementation.
∎ Good knowledge in database administration, business intelligence applications, big data management, data replication, data migration, backup- restore, log retrieval, data security and application management with docker, VM and cloud is essential.
∎ MCP, OCP, MCSA, OCA or any advanced database oriented certification would be a plus.
∎ Hands on experience of using Windows Server, iOS, Linux OS like RHEL/CentOS in development environment as well as using mobile data collection using KoboToolbox, ODK or equivalent and MSOffice or related tools.
∎ Ability to strictly maintain the timeline, can work under pressure with skill and enthusiasm.
∎ Professional level (written and spoken) English and Bangla language skills.
