Education:
MBA or Master`s in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
ACA/ACMA equivalent professional qualification strongly preferred.
At least 7+ years (including at least 3 years in a leadership role) in cost/management accounting within a manufacturing plant (Process Industry, Chemical Manufacturing highly desired).
Proven expertise in standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation in a complex production environment.
Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (SAP FICO/CO-PC, Oracle MFG) and MS Excel.
Deep understanding of cost accounting principles (absorption, marginal) and GAAP.
Strong business partnering & influencing skills – ability to challenge and support Operations.
Analytical & Problem-Solving: Translates data into cost-saving actions.

Lead all financial operations for the chemical manufacturing plant, with primary accountability for driving cost efficiency, optimising profitability, and providing strategic financial leadership. Partner with plant operations to analyse performance, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure rigorous financial control in a complex process environment.
Develop & maintain accurate standard costing models for all products, including raw materials, conversion, yield, waste, etc.
Lead deep-dive analysis of production variances (material usage, yield, labour, overhead); report root causes and drive corrective actions with operations.
Identify and quantify necessary initiatives to reduce manufacturing costs (scrap reduction, energy efficiency, process improvements).
Lead plant budgeting, rolling forecasts, and cost projections with operational leaders.
Oversee inventory valuation (RM/WIP/FG), cycle counts, and reconciliation; minimise obsolescence risk in a chemical inventory.
Assist the CFO in analysing product line profitability and provide insights for pricing/portfolio decisions.
Serve as the key finance partner to the Plant Managers, Operations team, and the Head of Factory in translating financial data into actionable operational insights.
Provide financial evaluation for CAPEX, process changes, sourcing decisions, and new product introductions.
Identify financial risks (cost inflation, inventory exposure, compliance) and propose mitigation plans.
Manage, mentor, and develop the plant finance/accounts team (e.g., Cost Accountant, Accounts Payable/Receivable).
Oversee accurate and timely plant financial closing, cost accounting entries, and management reporting.
Ensure robust SOX/compliance controls over plant costs, inventory, and financial reporting.
Lead internal/external audit activities for the plant location.
Track and analyse costs related to EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) compliance and initiatives.
