Responsibilities & Context:

This position is responsible for ensuring the successful planning, implementation, execution, supervision, and monitoring of infrastructure projects in various communities impacted by crises and disasters. This position will be crucial in designing and supervising the construction of essential facilities such as handicrafts production centers, shelters, water and sanitation systems, roads, bridges, and other infrastructure needed for the project.

  • Project Planning: Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to assess needs, identify priorities, and develop comprehensive project plans for infrastructure development projects

  • Design and Engineering: Utilize your expertise in civil engineering principles to design infrastructure solutions that are technically sound, cost-effective, and sustainable, considering factors such as local terrain, climate, and available resources

  • Technical Assessment: Conduct site assessments and surveys to gather relevant data and evaluate the feasibility of proposed infrastructure projects. Identify potential challenges and propose innovative solutions to overcome them

  • Construction Supervision: Provide technical oversight and guidance during the construction phase of projects, ensuring compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations. Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve any issues that may arise

  • Budget Management: Assist in the preparation of project budgets and cost estimates. Monitor project expenditures and resource allocation to ensure efficient use of funds and adherence to budgetary constraints

  • Community Engagement: Work closely with local communities and authorities to solicit input, gain support, and foster community ownership of infrastructure projects. Conduct outreach activities to raise awareness and promote participation in project activities

  • Capacity Building: Provide training and technical support to local staff and partners involved in project implementation, empowering them to take on increasingly responsible roles and contribute to the long-term sustainability of infrastructure initiatives

  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Develop monitoring frameworks and indicators to track the progress and impact of infrastructure projects. Collect and analyze data to assess project outcomes, identify lessons learned, and recommend improvements for future interventions

Safeguarding:

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme`s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action

  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so
