Experience:

• 3 to 5 years

The candidate should have Diploma in Fisheries with minimum 2nd class/ division or CGPA 2.50 or equivalent result in all academic examinations. (Age, Education and Experience will be relaxed for the potential candidates. Experience in shrimp hatcheries or broodstock management will be given preference).

• Acclimate new brood stock to the hatchery environment and quarantine as needed.

• Maintain brood stock tanks, brood stock, aeration systems, lighting, and feeding and water quality management.

• Regularly test and record water parameters such as temperature, salinity, pH, Alkalinity, dissolved oxygen (DO), ammonia, nitrite/nitrate etc.

• Conduct water exchanges or adjustments to maintain optimal water conditions.

• Prepare and administer appropriate feeds with proper nutritional profiles (protein, lipids, vitamins, minerals).

• Maintain feeding logs and monitor feed consumption & adjustment.

• Monitor gonadal development in brood stock and identify females ready for spawning.

• Facilitate mating/spawning protocol and collect eggs for hatching.

• Assist with incubation of fertilized eggs for best hatching rate.

• Ensure all facilities (maturation, spawning & hatching) including tanks clean & disease environment to ensure the clean & healthy naups.

• Monitor the brood stock for signs of any disease, stress, or mortality.

• Enforce hatchery biosecurity protocols

• Maintain detailed logs of feeding, water quality, mortality, spawning events, and health observations.

• Provide reports to production officer or Manager.

• Work with hatchery staff, supervisors, and lab technicians to coordinate daily operations.

• Support inventory management for feeds, supplements, chemicals, and supplies.

• Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

• Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

• Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
