Job Context
The nutrition program of GK focuses on the provision of curative and preventive nutrition services for children under five years of age and pregnant and lactating women (PLW) in the targeted area in Cox’s Bazar. This includes the provision of quality life-saving nutrition services to the vulnerable population, promotion of recommended nutrition behaviors through sensitization and social behavior change communication approaches, nutrition-sensitive approaches to address the underlying causes of undernutrition, capacity strengthening for service providers, and partnerships and coordination with relevant stakeholders.
The Assistant Nutrition Coordinator (ANC) is responsible for overseeing the nutrition projects/program for the Rohingya response. The Assistant Nutrition Coordinator will lead the implementation of nutrition programs, negotiate with donors throughout the project cycle management, oversee implementation, and ensure timely reporting. This position requires an individual who is accustomed to the pace of emergency response programming, has experience in successfully leading a diverse team, does not require close supervision or direction, is flexible and highly responsive, and excels at building and strengthening relations with donors.
Job Responsibilities
Program Management:
Overall supervision and successful implementation of the nutrition activities.
Development of work plans and budget management, according to program outputs and results.
Development of procurement plans and successful carrying out of operations, ensuring the implementation of the program.
Ensure program targets are met using indicator/activity tracking tables.
Monitor program expenditures and regularly liaise with finance staff to address any spending issues
Directly manage program budgets, forecast procurements, and human resource needs and work with finance, HR, and operations to prevent gaps in services.
Manage his or her teams to complete program goals on time and on budget
Capacity building of his or her team members
Provide program reports that are timely and meet institutional and donor requirements.
The Assistant Nutrition Coordinator is ultimately responsible for all relevant donor reporting for the nutrition program.
Represent GK at relevant stakeholder or coordination meetings, as needed, and maintain a positive, continuous and a visible presence for GK.
Spend significant time at field sites to ensure quality
Work constructively with support teams to ensure sound administrative practices with regards to record keeping, compliance with donor regulations, communications, etc.
Participate in program kick off meetings, grant review meetings and grant closeout meetings.
Program Quality:
Ensure program quality in every step of the program implementation.
Identify gaps and adjust programming to ensure GK is meeting targets and being responsive to new nutrition needs in the area.
Build staff quality and competencies through on-the-job coaching, mentoring, and setting up regular learning opportunities.
Establish strong links with community leaders and local authorities
Ensure the quality of data through proper entry, cleaning and regular checking, and use of the data for actionable improvements at the site.
Ensure that community-based activities, such as sessions, nutrition screening and education, and case tracking are properly conducted.
Provide guidance and expertise in strategic expansion of nutrition programming.
Share health technical expertise with the program development team to create strong proposal submissions
Program Development:
Lead needs assessments in populations affected by the Rohingya Response to identify new program opportunities.
Participate in the proposal development/budget modification process based on the needs.
Special Note:
Carry out any additional assignment per her/his position entrusted with the GK Management from time to time and mutually agreed upon.

Due to the emergency response nature of GK's work, hours of work may vary, and employees should be flexible in approaching hours of work in emergency conditions.
The employee must respect the timetable, terms, and conditions of Gonoshasthaya Kendra and should always be available to respond to an emergency.
