Prepare logistics/distribution/fleet-related reports and submit to management on time.
Take full responsibility for overall activities of Logistics, Distribution, and Maintenance Department.
Responsibilities & Context:
1. Warehouse & Inventory Management:
Monitor inventory levels and allocate stock for warehouse to ensure uninterrupted supply.
Manage daily warehouse activities including receiving, storage, order picking, packing, and dispatch.
Prepare daily in/out status reports, weekly, monthly, and yearly stock statements.
Issue and receive documents related to warehouse operations and maintain registers.
Implement and maintain warehouse safety and security policies.
2. Transport & Vehicle Management:
Develop distribution plans to ensure On-Time In-Full (OTIF) delivery to customers.
Supervise fleet operations, vehicle scheduling, and route optimization.
Manage drivers, helpers, and transport staff to ensure smooth operations.
Control fuel and gas consumption, and implement cost-effective logistics solutions.
Ensure all vehicle documentation, including registration, tax token, fitness, route permits, and insurance, is updated.
Oversee vehicle loading, dispatching, and timely delivery of finished goods using FIFO principles.
Ensure safe, compliant, and cost-effective transportation.
Monitor distribution KPIs (delivery lead time, cost per ton/km, OTIF).
Optimize inventory carrying cost.
Maintain records of vehicle maintenance, repairs, inspections, and operational costs.
Negotiate rates and contracts with transportation/logistics service providers ensuring cost-effective and secure terms.
3. Freight Cost Management:
Take full accountability for monitoring and controlling freight costs.
Track freight cost per ton/km and per unit delivered to ensure alignment with company budget.
Ensure proper documentation such as VAT Challan and Covered Van Challan for deliveries.
