Responsibilities and Context:
Import Process Management:
Monitor the overall activity of the import process for all buyers.
Oversee back-to-back L/C opening processes.
Ensure on-time booking, goods handover, import document submission, and import payment claims.
Coordinate with the Marketing & Merchandising department for shipment schedules and PO sheet collection.
Coordination with external entities:
Coordinate with different forwarders and shipping lines for timely booking and import document submission.
Handle C&F for smooth execution of shipments and on-time goods handover to shipping lines.
Communicate with government officials, C&F agents, banks & insurance, freight forwarders, and transport for import purposes.
Documentation and Compliance:
Prepare monthly import statements and maintain deadlines for shipping document submissions.
Demonstrate adequate knowledge of import issues, duplicate reporting in Bangladesh bank dashboard, customs rules, and shipping rules.
Be well-versed in bond licenses, bank correspondence, and other statutory authorities.
Check the pro forma invoice/indent, LC, commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, certificate of origin & import-related documents.
Follow up on import L/C and ensure a proper HS code for timely customs clearance.
Handle all import-related bills and submit them to the concerned department on time.
Supplier and Logistics Management:
Place orders and ensure on-time delivery.
Check and control PI & other invoices, packing lists, and other related documents for importing goods and services.
Liaise with banks, shipping lines, forwarding agents, and other organizations related to import documentation.
Handle shipping line and transport-related concerns for smooth and timely delivery of goods.
Reporting and Miscellaneous Tasks:
Complete all activities with the bank related to LC, TT, and FDD to ensure on-time shipment.
Prepare all import-related statements and share daily, weekly, and monthly reports with the head of the department.
Perform any other tasks as assigned by the management from time to time.
