Responsibilities & Context:

Akij Venture Group is looking for a competent and experienced professional for the position of Assistant Manager – Commercial (Import) to manage import operations, ensure timely shipment processing, minimize port-related costs, and maintain smooth coordination among internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and follow up C&F activities to ensure timely completion of import-related processes.

  • Ensure proper control and minimization of port demurrage and other additional costs.

  • Verify and confirm appropriate HS Codes for spare parts and other import orders.

  • Coordinate effectively with Procurement, Commercial, Finance, and other relevant departments for smooth import operations.

  • Track shipments and communicate delivery schedules to all concerned departments.

  • Follow up on pending LC (Letter of Credit) issues and ensure timely resolution.

  • Maintain proper documentation and compliance related to import activities.

  • Ensure timely communication with suppliers, banks, C&F agents, and internal stakeholders.
