∎ About Muslim Hands International: Muslim Hands International, Bangladesh is registered with the Bureau of NGO Affairs working in different sectors i.e. education, WASH, health, livelihood, child protection, poverty alleviation and disaster relief program since 1995. Our donor Muslim Hands UK is an international relief and development NGO, established in 1993 working both directly and with partners in over forty countries, carrying out short and long-term projects in emergency relief, educational and vocational training, orphan sponsorship, medical care and safe water.
∎ Summary of Position: The Assistant Accountant will provide support to secure a dynamic and growth-oriented organization, where he/she can leverage strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and solid understanding of financial principles to contribute to accurate financial reporting, efficient transaction management, and overall financial health.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Financial Recordkeeping: Assist in maintaining comprehensive and up-to-date financial records, including invoices, receipts, expense reports, and donation documentation.
∎ Enter financial data into accounting software and spreadsheets accurately.
∎ Accounts Payable and Receivable: Support the processing of vendor invoices, verifying accuracy and adherence to procurement policies.
∎ Prepare and execute payments to vendors and service providers in a timely manner.
∎ Monitor accounts receivable, record donations, and assist in acknowledging contributions.
∎ Budget Monitoring and Bank Reconciliation: Assist in tracking budget allocations for different projects, programs, and operational expenses.
∎ Assist in performing regular bank reconciliations to ensure accurate recording of transactions.
∎ Investigate and resolve discrepancies between bank statements and accounting records.
∎ Financial Reporting: Contribute to the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
∎ Assist in generating financial summaries for internal and external stakeholders.
∎ Compliance and Internal Controls: Assist in ensuring adherence to financial regulations, reporting requirements, and internal control procedures.
∎ Help implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard financial transactions and assets.
∎ Support audits and reviews by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
∎ Communication and Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments to collect financial information and address any discrepancies.
∎ Assist in responding to inquiries from staff, donors, or partners regarding financial matters.
∎ Miscellaneous Tasks: Assist in processing payroll, including accurate recording of employee compensation and benefits.
∎ Participate in the annual budgeting process and contribute to financial projections.
∎ Support special projects and initiatives as assigned by the Accounting Manager or Finance Director.
∎ Collection of Tuition fees and Government books.
∎ Collaborate to purchase hostel food items and office stationary.
∎ Participating in any training required for Education sector.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 35 years
∎ Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage), Microsoft Excel, and other relevant tools.
∎ Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping.
∎ Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
∎ Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
∎ Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders.
∎ Familiarity with non-profit accounting standards and regulations (a plus).
∎ Previous experience in accounting or finance within a non-profit organization (a plus).
