Responsibilities & Context: I. Primary Objective
1.To achieve sales targets and expand market share within the assigned territory.
2.To lead, train, and motivate the field sales team (Sales Executives/Officers).
3.To build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with distributors, retailers, and key accounts.
II. Key Responsibilities
1.Sales Target Achievement: Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales volume and value targets.
2.Territory Planning: Design and implement effective sales strategies and "beat plans" for the sales team to maximize market coverage.
3.Team Management: Recruit, train, and monitor the performance of Sales Executives and medical representatives (where applicable).
4.Distributor Management: Appoint new distributors and manage existing ones to ensure optimal stock levels and timely collections.
5.Market Intelligence: Monitor competitor activities, pricing, and new product launches to provide feedback to the marketing team.
6.Customer Relationship Management (CRM): Visit key retail outlets and wholesalers regularly to resolve grievances and build brand loyalty.
7.Promotion Execution: Oversee the implementation of trade marketing schemes, displays, and promotional campaigns at the ground level.
8.Reporting & Documentation: Provide daily/weekly reports on sales figures, secondary sales, and market trends to the Regional Sales Manager.
9.Budget Oversight: Manage the assigned territory`s budget, including travel expenses and promotional spending.
10.Stock & Supply Chain: Coordinate with the logistics department to ensure there are no stock-outs at the distributor or retail level.
III. Required Skills & Qualifications
1.Sales Expertise: Proven track record in field sales, preferably in FMCG, Pharma, or Consumer Durables.
2.Leadership: Ability to lead a diverse team and drive performance through coaching and mentorship.
3.Negotiation Skills: Strong ability to persuade and close deals with tough distributors or corporate clients.
4.Analytical Skills: Proficiency in analyzing sales data and Excel reports to identify "low-performing" pockets in the territory.
5.Local Knowledge: Deep understanding of the local geography, language, and cultural nuances of the assigned area.
IV. Physical & Travel Requirements
1Extensive Travel: Must be willing to travel up to 70–80% of the time within the assigned territory.
2.Vehicle: Often requires a valid driving license and a personal vehicle (depending on company policy).
