Job Context:
∎ Jagrata Juba Shangha (JJS), having 38 years of experience as a rights-based environmental and social development organization actively dealing with pro-poor issues, climate change and disaster-vulnerable people in the South West coastal region of Bangladesh. JJS has been working diligently to improve the lives of vulnerable people in coastal communities through its interventions in Human People`s Rights, Climate Change and Disaster Management, Environmental protection & and nature-based solutions, Food Sovereignty, Health, Nutrition and WASH fields.
∎ JJS decided to implement the Strengthening children`s voice and leadership in addressing climate change and disaster risk in Bangladesh project in the South West Coastal Region of Bangladesh. To reduce children`s vulnerability to climate impacts, promote children`s participation and leadership in planning and implementation processes. The project will be implemented in 10 upozilas of three districts of Bagerhat, Khulna and Satkhira the most climatically vulnerable districts in the southwestern coastal region of Bangladesh.
∎ To implement the project JJS like to recruit suitable person for the following position.
∎ Position : Advocacy Officer
∎ Project : Strengthening children`s voice and leadership in addressing climate change and disaster risk in Bangladesh with support from KNH.
∎ Assignment period : 3 years 4 months (01 September 2023 to 31 December 2026)
∎ Travel allowance : Actual
∎ Closing Date : 5 pm, 23 September 2023
∎ Working station : Upozila level in Khulna, Bagerhat, Shatkhira districts

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Organize events, meetings and campaigns to ensure that the advocacy plan is active and moving forwards.
∎ Develop links and network with different people and stakeholders.
∎ Collect and document project stories for sharing, learning and advocacy. Create a map of activities in the areas of each objective of advocacy plan.
∎ Provide timely update and advice to stakeholders and the management team on advocacy issues or other issues that arise.
∎ Ensure there is continuous information flow on advocacy events, meetings, initiatives between project and the target community.
∎ Organize team and stakeholders effectively and use their capacity in the most compelling way.
∎ Facilitate meetings, seminars, maintain lesion with media and stakeholder.
∎ Ensure that the work is carried out at all times with the utmost of privacy and confidentiality in accordance with the terms and conditions of employment.
∎ Perform any other relevant activities as per management.

∎ Age at most 55 years

∎ Qualification : Report writing in English, Computer skill.
