Job Responsibilities:
∎ Provide technical leadership and assistance on the overall pre-primary approach with a real focus on teaching and learning material development, training and capacity building for a variety of stakeholders responsible for children's learning; as well as approaches for testing and scaling up learning methodologies to improve learning outcomes
∎ Responsible to ensure timely deliverable of pre-primary education activities according to the approved project document and work plan as agreed under the UNICEF project
∎ Undertake monthly/quarterly planning to ensure the project deliverables related to pre-primary and implementation accordingly
∎ Review and analyse existing government pre-primary teaching-learning package to design and development of improved child-centred and gender-responsive teaching-learning methodologies and materials with the respective Govt officials, RtR CO technical team and UNICEF
∎ Review and analyse existing government pre-primary teacher education curriculum and training packages to align with the child-centred and gender-responsive teaching-learning methodologies and practices and design training/workshop for Master Trainers, Government Officials, head teachers, pre-primary teachers and project staff
∎ Facilitate capacity building session for targeted personnel from PTI, URC, other govt officials, head-teachers and project staff on improved practices of Pre-primary education
∎ Review the existing supplementary materials package for pre-primary grades and finalize the package in consultation with the respective Govt officials, RtR CO technical team and UNICEF
∎ Review and finalize assessment framework of pre-primary education and implementation plan in consultation with the other team members and CO-based technical team
∎ Work closely with relevant government stakeholders to ensure sustainable programing aligned with the Govt's Pre-primary operational and technical framework
∎ Help analyse data to inform periodic review and course correction to ensure that project activities are based on evidence and generating innovative approaches towards improved learning outcomes at pre-primary level
∎ Support in documenting lessons learnt and best practices of the project
∎ Ensure that issues of gender and disability are factored into the project design
∎ Ensure timely submission of reports to Project Manager
∎ Report timely the implementation of the project targets related to pre-primary education
∎ Review program reports and responds as necessary
∎ Engage with government and conduct outreach in support of project activities, especially in relation to implementation, scale up and sustainability
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum of 8 years related work experience with at least 3 years in a similar position
∎ Good knowledge and understanding of pre-primary education including teaching methodologies and community involvement in schools
∎ Should have experience on working closely with relevant government stakeholders to ensure sustainable programing aligned with the Govt's Pre-primary operational and technical framework
∎ Support in developing government pre-primary teaching-learning package will be added as advantage
∎ Strong planning, coaching and program development skills
