Responsibilities & Context:
Academic Leadership: Oversee the delivery of high-quality instruction and ensure all academic programs align with the school’s curriculum and standards.
Curriculum Oversight: Collaborate with Classroom Teachers to execute curriculum plans, manage academic evaluations, and drive continuous improvement in teaching methodologies.
Staff Management & Mentorship: Supervise and support the professional growth of Classroom Teachers and Assistant Teachers, providing guidance on instructional excellence and classroom management.
Student Progress Monitoring: Oversee the management of student portfolios and academic records to ensure accurate tracking of individual student progress.
Conduct & Safety: Ensure the consistent implementation of the Student Code of Conduct to maintain a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment across all classrooms.
Policy Compliance: Champion and enforce all institutional policies, including Attendance, Punctuality, and Confidentiality and Data Protection.
Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a primary point of contact for parents and staff regarding academic concerns, maintaining professional ethics and transparent communication.
Resource Management: Manage and allocate departmental resources, including educational materials and technology, to effectively support curriculum delivery.
Strategic Planning: Lead the development and implementation of short- and long-term academic strategy for the Early Years and Elementary programs.
Performance Reporting: Develop and present regular reports on academic performance, curriculum effectiveness, and staff productivity to the Principal.
Budget Oversight: Manage and monitor the departmental budget, ensuring responsible allocation and utilization of funds for academic needs.
School-wide Initiative Participation: Actively participate in and contribute to school-wide committees and strategic initiatives beyond the departmental scope.
Quality Assurance & Accreditation: Lead efforts in preparing for external academic reviews and accreditation processes, maintaining documentation and compliance with quality standards.
Education: Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a relevant subject area is highly preferred.
Experience: Significant experience in teaching and academic administration, specifically within Early Years or Elementary settings.
Global Perspective: Experience working in international school environments or with diverse, multicultural student populations is highly desirable.
Curriculum Framework Familiarity: Direct experience or in-depth knowledge of leading international curriculum frameworks (e.g., Cambridge Curriculum or Pearson Education) is highly advantageous.
Data Analysis: Demonstrated ability to use student data to inform instructional decisions and measure program effectiveness.
Conflict Resolution: Demonstrated ability to resolve complex staff and parental conflicts professionally and effectively.
Innovation and Change Management: Ability to champion new initiatives, foster a culture of innovation, and effectively guide staff through periods of change.
