Experience:

• Bachelor/Honors

• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering

• Certifications: PE license or CFPS preferred.

• 3 to 5 years

• Experience: 3–5 years in fire protection systems for power plants or substations.

Technical Skills

• AutoCAD or fire modeling software (PyroSim).

• Strong knowledge of NFPA & IEEE standards.

• Experience with transformer oil containment systems.

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and reporting skills.

• Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Transformer Fire Protection Engineer to lead the design, installation, and maintenance of fire suppression and explosion prevention systems for critical electrical infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of active and passive fire protection systems for oil-filled transformers and substations.

Reports To: Head of Safety / Technical Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement specialized fire suppression systems (water spray, foam, nitrogen injection).

• Conduct fire hazard and explosion risk assessments for substations.

• Ensure compliance with NFPA 850, NFPA 70, and IEEE 979 standards.

• Manage testing, commissioning, and preventive maintenance of systems.

• Oversee transformer explosion prevention systems.

• Coordinate with electrical engineers and civil contractors.

• Prepare technical reports, audits, and incident investigations.
