Responsibilities & Context:

Key Responsibilities – Social Compliance Auditing

  • Conducting Social Compliance Audits: Conduct social compliance audits as a member of an audit team, covering various areas such as labor and employment practices, working hours and wages, health and safety, human rights, environmental practices, management systems, worker welfare, and applicable client or code-of-conduct requirements.

  • Team-Based Audit Execution: Work closely with fellow auditors to plan and conduct audits effectively, coordinate audit activities.

  • Factory Assessment and Evidence Verification: Conduct factory walkthroughs, management and worker interviews, document reviews, record verification, and on-site observations to identify compliance gaps and assess the facility against applicable standards and requirements.

  • Audit Report Preparation: Prepare accurate, clear, and comprehensive audit reports based on audit observations, reviewed documents, interviews, and supporting evidence. Ensure that findings are properly documented with appropriate descriptions, objective evidence, and relevant requirements.

  • Review and Quality Assurance: Review audit findings, supporting evidence, and reports to ensure consistency, accuracy, completeness, and alignment with applicable audit standards and client requirements before submission.

  • Client Coordination: Coordinate and communicate professionally with clients and factory management, audit requirements, documentation, findings, corrective action plans (CAPs), evidence submission, and follow-up activities.

  • Corrective Action Follow-up: Review corrective action plans and supporting evidence submitted by facilities, provide clarification where necessary, identify outstanding or insufficient evidence, and coordinate with clients/factories to facilitate timely closure of findings.

  • Professional Communication: Maintain effective communication with clients, factory management, audit team members, and internal colleagues throughout the audit process and ensure that important audit-related matters are communicated clearly and on time.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve audit quality, reporting accuracy, team coordination, and overall audit efficiency while maintaining professional and ethical auditing practices.
