Responsibilities & Context:
Performs qualitative and quantitative chemical analyses of body fluids and exudates, following instructions, to provide information used in diagnosis and treatment of diseases: Tests specimens, such as urine, blood, spinal fluid, and gastric juices, for presence and quantity of sugar, albumin, drugs, toxins, and blood gases such as oxygen.
Prepares solutions used in chemical analysis. Calibrates and maintains manual and computer-controlled analyzers, spectrophotometers, colorimeters, flame photometers, and other equipment used in quantitative and qualitative analysis.
Received Patient samples.
Produces reliable lab reports with speed and economic.
Supervises discarding of the samples.
Maintenance of all the equipment in co-ordination with the Bio-medical engineers.
Assist the training program for junior technicians.
Entry Test result into HIS when required. (When Medical Transcriptionist is not available)
Performs all other tasks as required by the department.
