Job Context:
∎ Mahideb Jubo Somaj Kallayan Somity (MJSKS) in collaboration with Plan International Bangladesh is going to start a NRK Telethon - Child, Not Bride (NRK-CNB) - Bangladesh project that aims to reduce the Early Child and Forced Marriage- CEFM in Bangladesh, and the target district is Kurigram in particular. The integrated project will work in the areas of youth governance, sexual reproductive health and rights, CEFM system strengthening & monitoring and girls` economic empowerment that will ultimately contribute to combating early and forced marriage. Through this project, the girls and young women along with the boys and young men will be empowered to drive a systemic change for achieving gender equality and promoting an enabling environment for youth, especially for girls and young women to build their future aspirations and make decisions. The project will be implemented from January 2022 to December 2025.

∎ Job Location: 3 Upazilas namely Bhurangamari, Nageswari and Fulbari under Kurigram district.
∎ Age limit: Bellow 50 years.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Technical Officer-Youth Leadership is one of the key technical positions to reach overall all the four outcomes of the project. H/She will work with the youths and youth organizations and will provide guidelines to the youth to build networks among themselves. The position holder needs to work for girls and young women to develop skills and knowledge to be engaged in social movements to challenge the social norms. Additionally, H/She will ensure the participation of young people in governance and decision-making spaces of local government and relevant authorities at the local, regional and national levels.
∎ H/she will take a proactive attitude in identifying and mitigating safeguarding of children and young people and gender transformative related risks, ensure youth will become champions of change and challenge gender norms in their society, ensure youths, especially girls and young women in the youth organizations to strengthen their gender perspective and will be supported to organize and run campaigns to prevent CEFM.
∎ Ensure guidelines for youth representation in local child marriage prevention committees will be developed and promoted within and outside the project areas.
∎ Maintain regular and effective coordination and networking with the GOB, NGO, and other institutions implementing similar nature of the projects.
∎ Participate in different relevant meetings, training, seminars, workshops as desired by the programme and organization share good practices of the project interventions and learning. Builds strong relationships with programme stakeholders, focuses on impact and result for the beneficiaries, and responds positively to feedback
∎ The position is required for capacity building of team members and quality assurance & monitoring of project activities.The incumbent should have experience on Youth skill development and employment creation related job in Bangladeshi rural context. Eexperience on Youth and Adolescent club operation with strong engagement of civil society and community people. Candidate should have knowledge on Gender mainstreaming and Anti-social activities like; Child marriage, dowry, physical, mental, sexual harassment, eve teasing etc. issues. Knowledge on awareness on sexual and reproductive health rights for the youth and Adolescent, Skill development training, Business plan, technical support of Staff and workers in development activities for the youth,
Additional Requirements:
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ At least 3 years of job experience in similar position in a reputed NGO
∎ Clear conception/ understanding on livelihood, human rights and mainstreaming gender and right based project dynamics. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Bengali. The applicant should have computer skill on MS word, Excel, Power point and internet applications. Experience on network/linkage/collaboration with union/upazila/district level administration and likeminded organizations. Willing to stay at Upazila level with frequent visit to the remote areas. Candidate should have a good knowledge on safe guarding (Child Protection, Gender & Anti sexual harassment) issue. Should have valid Motor bike driving license. Ensuring pandemic-related safeguards are in place at meetings, trainings, and workshops. Assist to PC and provide authentic data and information relating to the project. Salary:
∎ Monthly gross salary BDT. 40,341/-.
Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ 1 festival bonus equivalent to 1 month gross salary for each year. 5-10% salary increment (based on gross salary) in each year as per performance appraisal. Other admissible benefit as per MJSKS policy which is mentioned in the project budget.
