Job Context:
∎ With the support from WASH Program Manager, the incumbent will ensure health and hygiene promotion in the project catchments and develop various high-quality materials such as case studies, human interest stories and video documentaries for advocacy, community mobilisation and reporting purposes in line with UNCEF LTA and strategic programming priorities as defined by the WV Bangladesh Rohingya Crisis Response (BRCR) Program. S/he will also closely work with different internal and external stakeholders and will serve as the secondary sector contact person to the different WASH Technical groups, donors, and local government entities.
∎ The Technical Coordinator (Hygiene Promotion) is expected to have strong expertise in capacity building of different stakeholders; including affected communities, schools, community-based volunteers and familiar with the RANAS methodologies, CCC_PLTH and child-focused approaches.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Ensure that Hygiene Promotion activities are in line with relevant standards, codes of conduct, and humanitarian principles.
∎ Use participatory approaches as a far as possible throughout the programme cycle, in training, and in the use of tool kits and other materials.
∎ Ensure that Hygiene Promotion activities and resources are implemented and handed over or ended in a way that promotes local capacities and sustainable operations.
∎ Ensure that gender, protection, HIV, the environment, and other important crosscutting concerns are taken into account in programme design, implementation, and reporting; ensure that activities reflect the needs of specific groups and individuals e.g. elderly people, children, and people with disabilities.
∎ Design, implementation, and monitoring of hygiene promotion activities that are appropriate to specific sectors of the community, e.g. children, youths, women, and men.
∎ Identification of any need for the distribution of non-food items related to public health, such as containers, soap, hygiene kits, etc., and participation in the choice of items, targeting strategy, promotion of effective use, and post distribution monitoring
∎ Timely submission of narrative reports to line manager on project progress, program team and donors
∎ Contribute to the development of the country strategy, new projects and/or donor proposals.
∎ Maintain and create strategic partnerships and networks with government, UN agencies, and other NGOs.
∎ Actively participate in the technical working group and ensure that World Vision is represented in coordination forums and review meetings.
∎ Recruit, train, and manage Hygiene Promoters and Community Mobilisers.
∎ Manage day-to-day logistics, administration, and personnel activities (including any local, contracted personnel/daily labor) in accordance with national law and organizational guidelines.
∎ Plan and manage the Hygiene Promotion budget, and control/authorize expenditure.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Familiarity with the issues around water, sanitation and hygiene related issues and behaviors.
∎ Familiarity with protection issues in WASH, gender & Inclusion in WASH and accountability to affected persons programming
∎ Familiarities of using KoBO/other online survey tools and methods of data collection.
∎ Excellent coordination capacity with individuals, community group representatives, NGOs, WASH officers, and government officials.
∎ Experience in the RANAS methodologies, CCC_PLTH and child-focused approaches.
∎ Knowledge of the UN system and the humanitarian community.
∎ Excellent spoken and written Bangla and English.
∎ Must be ready to work in a multi-cultural environment
∎ Appropriate communication skill and approachable
∎ Must have no history of violation of children rights
∎ Cross-cultural sensitivity, flexible worldview, emotional maturity and physical stamina
∎ Ability to work in and contribute to team building environment
