Responsibilities & Context:
- Managing day-to-day operations of the cafe
- Oversee scheduling of staff members and be able to quickly find replacements in the event of a staff member being sick or absent
- Coordinate with vendors and order supplies, as needed
- Maintain updated records of daily, weekly and monthly revenues and expenses
- Monitor and maintain inventory
- Work closely with customers to answer questions and listen to complaints regarding food quality and customer service before working to resolve those complaints promptly
- Listen to customer preferences and make suggestions for menu items
- Hiring and onboarding new staff and baristas
- Training employees on drinks preparation and proper use of coffee equipment
- Advise staff on the best ways to resolve issues with customer and deliver excellent customer service
- Gather & evaluate employees’ performance
- Coaching, counselling, and disciplining
- Drives coffee conversations within the team and creates a culture of coffee appreciation
- Ensure all cafe areas are clean and tidy
- Nurture friendly relationships with customers to increase loyalty and boost our reputation
- Manages and motivates the team to increase sales and ensure efficiency
