Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Manage all commercial activities related to foreign procurement and purchases, including the issuance of PI, L/C opening, amendments/corrections, shipment, negotiation, payment realization, and release through phone and email with overseas suppliers.
∎ Effectively perform international procurement tasks, ensuring that all processes are managed efficiently in a timely manner.
∎ Negotiate with existing suppliers and actively source new suppliers to optimize costs and ensure a consistent supply. Coordinate with confirming banks to secure competitive confirmations for Import L/Cs.
∎ Maintain proper liaison with trade bodies, banks, shipping lines, C&F agents, transport agents, insurance companies, and Customs & VAT departments to ensure smooth operations.
∎ Follow up on Import L/C processes, ensure proper HS codes for timely customs clearance, and implement strategies to reduce additional costs.
∎ Communicate with transport agencies to arrange for the transportation of goods from Chittagong to the warehouse.
∎ Monitor all commercial processes related to foreign purchases to ensure they are executed in a timely and cost-effective manner.
∎ Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
