Specialist – Internal Medicine

Labaid Cancer Hospital & Super Speciality Centre Ltd. is looking for a dedicated, competent and patient-focused medical professional to join our clinical team as Specialist – Internal Medicine. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive medical consultation, diagnosis and management of patients while maintaining high standards of clinical care, patient safety and professional practice.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive consultation, diagnosis and management of patients with a wide range of medical conditions.

• Conduct detailed clinical assessments, formulate differential diagnoses and develop appropriate treatment plans.

• Manage acute and chronic medical conditions and provide evidence-based treatment.

• Provide appropriate inpatient and outpatient medical care.

• Monitor patients’ clinical progress and modify treatment plans according to their condition and response to treatment.

• Evaluate and manage medically complex and critically ill patients within the scope of professional expertise.

• Recognize clinical deterioration and initiate appropriate emergency management and escalation of care.

• Review laboratory, imaging and other diagnostic reports and correlate findings with clinical conditions.

• Provide appropriate referrals and coordinate care with other specialties when required.

• Maintain accurate patient records, clinical notes, treatment plans and discharge documentation.

• Explain diagnosis, treatment options, medications and follow-up plans clearly to patients and attendants.

• Work collaboratively with consultants, physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

• Participate in multidisciplinary clinical discussions, case reviews and hospital rounds.

• Ensure compliance with hospital clinical protocols, infection prevention practices and patient safety standards.

• Maintain professional ethics, confidentiality and appropriate standards of patient communication.

• Participate in clinical, academic, quality improvement and other hospital activities.

• Provide emergency and on-call medical services as required.

• Perform any other clinical responsibilities assigned by the competent authority.

Educational Requirements

• MBBS from a recognized medical college/university.

• MD / MS / FCPS / MRCP / M. Phil / Equivalent postgraduate degree in Internal Medicine, recognized by BMDC.

• Valid BMDC registration is mandatory.

Experience Requirements

• Immediate after completion of postgraduate qualification.

• Relevant clinical experience in Internal Medicine will be an advantage but is not mandatory.
