Specialist – General Surgery

Labaid Cancer Hospital & Super Speciality Centre Ltd. is looking for a dedicated, competent and patient-focused medical professional to join our clinical team as Specialist – General Surgery. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive surgical consultation and patient care while maintaining the highest standards of clinical practice and patient safety.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide consultation, diagnosis and comprehensive management of patients with general surgical conditions.

• Conduct detailed clinical assessments and determine appropriate surgical or non-surgical treatment plans.

• Perform general surgical procedures within the scope of professional training and expertise.

• Conduct pre-operative assessments and provide appropriate post-operative management.

• Monitor patients’ clinical progress and identify potential complications at an early stage.

• Provide appropriate emergency surgical care when required.

• Maintain accurate patient records, clinical notes and surgical documentation.

• Explain diagnoses, treatment options, surgical procedures, risks and post-operative care to patients and attendants.

• Work collaboratively with consultants, physicians, anesthesiologists, nurses and other healthcare professionals.

• Participate in multidisciplinary clinical discussions and case reviews.

• Ensure compliance with hospital clinical protocols, infection prevention practices and patient safety standards.

• Maintain professional ethics and confidentiality in all aspects of patient care.

• Participate in clinical, academic, quality improvement and other hospital activities.

• Perform any other clinical responsibilities assigned by the competent authority.

Educational Requirements

• MBBS from a recognized medical college/university.

• MD / MS / FCPS / MRCP / M. Phil / Equivalent postgraduate degree in General Surgery, recognized by BMDC.

• Valid BMDC registration is mandatory.

Experience Requirements

• Immediate after completion of postgraduate qualification.

• Relevant clinical or surgical experience will be an advantage but is not mandatory.
