Job Context:
∎ Caritas Bangladesh (CB) is a national and non-profit development organization operating in Bangladesh since 1967. It has its Central Office in Dhaka and eight Regional Offices in Barishal, Chattogram, Dhaka, Dinajpur, Khulna, Mymensingh, Rajshahi and Sylhet. CB is implementing 89 on-going projects covering 189 focusing upazila on six main priorities i.e i) Social Welfare for Vulnerable Communities (SWVC), ii) Education and Child Development, iii) Nutrition and Health Education, iv) Disaster Management, v) Ecological Conservation and Food Security (ECFS), and vi) Development of Indigenous Peoples.
∎ Caritas Bangladesh (CB), Cox`s Bazar is looking for suitable candidates for the following positions for immediate appointment as well as to prepare panel list for Emergency Response to the Forcibly Displaced People of Myanmar in Bangladesh.
∎ The details of the positions including job responsibilities, educational qualification and other qualities /competency required for the above positions are given below for your information.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Responsible for the overall monitoring and timely and effective implementation of shelter related projects activities of allocated area.
∎ Pay field visit to the project areas daily for proper implementation of the project activities as well as verify the qualities and quantities of the activities and take necessary corrective measures in consultation with the Project Coordinator.
∎ Taking all sorts of initiatives for proper implementation of shelter and site development related activities of projects like emergency, upgrade and durable shelter construction, path/road construction, making of steps, bridges, slope protection and community mobilization etc.
∎ Maintain team spirit among the staff members of Caritas and keep linkage with other operational agencies of the areas.
∎ Assist to prepare drawing, design, cost estimate and analyze of rates for shelter and site development infrastructure construction works.
∎ Maintain effective liaison with project offices, relevant Govt. department, NGOs, community leaders (Majhi) and other stakeholders working in the project area for smooth implementation of the projects.
∎ Assist Project Coordinator to prepare the reports for the project.
∎ Support the supervisors in survey of ongoing projects; review and crosscheck data to ensure accuracy
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 40 years
∎ Minimum 02 years of experience in Shelter and DRR.
∎ Ability to engage with local and international agencies.
∎ Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and training skills.
∎ Strong written and oral command in English is required. Speaking ability in Chattogram local dialect a plus.
∎ Shows persistence when faced with difficult problems or challenges.
∎ Should be self-driven and positive to work in a team.
∎ Should have "can do' attitude and able to handle multiple tasks managing priorities.
∎ Committed to work following organizational aims, values, principal and policies.
∎ Maximum 40 years (as on 30.04.2021)
Salary:
∎ 60,000 BDT (Consolidated) per month.
