Job Context:
∎ The Danish Refugee Council (DRC), one of the world`s leading NGOs, with a focus on responding to displacement, have been registered in Bangladesh since 2013. In 2017, in response to the Rohingya influx, DRC launched an integrated program of support to the government in site management, shelter/NFI and protection. In 2018, DRC started implementing aid projects in support of the host communities most affected by the influx of refugees. As a key part of this, DRC opened a main office in Cox`s Bazar, and a support/liaison office in Dhaka.
∎ POSITION PROFILE: Under the supervision of Shelter & Infrastructure Team Leader, the Shelter Assistant (Distribution) will work with Shelter & Infrastructure & DRC-contracted vendor to distribute NFI specially clothing items at 8West, 8East in FDMN camps located at Balukhali camps.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Implement beneficiary verifications and maintain distribution lists in line with DRC's data protection protocols.
∎ Verify the quality and quantity of incoming stocks at the distribution point and report any discrepancies.
∎ Maintain a collaborative and positive working relationship with the DRC-contracted vendor while ensuring that DRC standards are adhered to.
∎ Collect data accurately in a professional manner, review data for errors and report discrepancies to the line manager.
∎ Verify beneficiary complaints using DRC tools, provide beneficiaries with confirmed information and refer issues to line manager if needed.
∎ Document irregular referrals, incidents, or ad hoc requests and raise them to the line manager for instructions on how to respond.
∎ Supervise DRC distribution point volunteers and train them on their roles, responsibilities, and the distribution system.
∎ Ensure that the DRC Code of Conduct is understood, signed, and followed by vendors contracted by DRC, Cash-for-Work laborer's, and DRC volunteers. Report infractions in a timely manner following DRC's Code of Conduct Reporting Mechanism.
∎ Any other duties assigned by the line manager.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum one year of work experience with an NGO in an emergency response setting.
∎ Minimum one year of work experience implementing distributions at field level.
∎ Has a track record of adhering to humanitarian principles, particularly when handling ad hoc requests from local authorities.
∎ Expert skills in interpersonal communications, de-escalating conflict, and active listening particularly in a camp setting.
∎ Strong systems thinker who can organize information and structure their own work.
∎ Self-directed and able to work on their own with minimal directives while respecting levels of organizational decision-making.
∎ Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and KoBo Toolbox.
∎ Experience in administration and logistics is an asset.
∎ Must be willing to work on Fridays and holidays if requested.
∎ LANGUAGES :
∎ English (required - fluent in speaking, reading, and writing).
∎ Bengali.
