∎ Skill to develop training module and materials to create awareness of the targeted beneficiaries.
∎ Training conduction skill for the capacity building of the frontline worker to train the target beneficiaries.

∎ Familiar with bio-physical and socio-economic condition of the ecologically critical areas in Sundarbans.

∎ The UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) has selected a CARE Bangladesh led consortium to implement the project titled ‘Nature Based Adaptation towards Prosperous and Adept Lives & Livelihoods in Bangladesh (NABAPALLAB/ নবপল্লব)’ in two Ecologically Critical Areas (ECA) – Sundarbans and Hakaluki Haor. The other consortium members are CNRS, Cordaid, C3ER-BRAC University, Dushtha Shasthya Kendra (DSK), Friendship, Humanity & Inclusion (HI), iDE, and Practical Action.
∎ FCDO’s NABAPALLAB aims to engage biodiversity and natural resource-dependent communities to strengthen the climate resilience of the ECAs, conserve biodiversity, and at the same time, diversify and improve people's livelihood through innovative nature-based (NBS) and locally led adaptation solutions in the districts of Bagerhat, Satkhira and Khulna in the Sundarbans ECA, and Maulvibazar and Sylhet in Hakaluki Haor.
∎ Cordaid (www.cordiad.org) is a Netherlands based INGO working in Bangladesh since 1972 and throughout the years, Cordaid promoted a climate smart food system for vulnerable communities in the southwest coastal region of Bangladesh. In the NABAPALLAB project, Cordaid will implement the both off firm and on farm livelihoods interventions in Satkhira district under the Sundarbans ECA areas.
∎ The Senior Technical Officer (Livelihoods ) will report to Field Operation Coordinator of Cordaid, Bangladesh. The overall responsibilities to provide technical support for the capacity building of the Project Officers and Community Supervisor to implement the both on farm and off firm livelihoods related activities through training, coaching, mentoring and monitoring the field activities. He/she will also guide the field team for participatory action plan development for livelihoods development of the selected beneficiaries specifically alternative livelihoods development options for dependent households on Sundarbans. He/she will be also assist the Field Coordinator to introduce the Cordaid and project with different stakeholders and track the achievements of the livelihoods related inputs distribution, training and progress against target.
∎ Develop training materials development on different off farm livelihoods options for the targeted beneficiaries.
∎ Training conduction for the capacity building of the Community Supervisor to train the farmers.
∎ Conduct participatory action plan development for sustainable and alternative livelihoods improvement for dependent households on Sundarbans.
∎ Asses the required inputs for income generating activities through consultation with the stakeholders
∎ Prepare the specification of the different inputs and assets for the livelihood’s development.
∎ Orient the staff to select community-based supervisors as per project proposal.
∎ Coordinate with field team to organize project orientation at community level and in beneficiary selection process
∎ Prepare livelihoods related Detailed Implementation Plan (DIP) with team and track the progress against plan in regular basis.
∎ Provide follow up monitoring support to field teams and learn project’s implementation challenges being actively present in field.
∎ Coordinate the implementation of blue economy related activities such as seaweed production/halophyte production in collaboration with Agricultural university, BARI (Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute) and other stakeholders.
∎ Prepare Implementation Guidelines (IG) of major interventions under this component such as Blue Economy, On-farm and Off- farm alternative livelihoods.
∎ Establish linkage with organizations active in saline agriculture, blue economy and alternative livelihood for cross learning and capacity building, and to capitalise on opportunities to strengthen the project outcomes.
∎ Assist the communication team to collect photographs and video for project documentation.
∎ Prepare the filed monitoring report and livelihoods related progress report in regular basis
∎ Assist the PMEL & communication team to prepare the documentation and capture the learnings.
∎ Ensure open and transparent communication with stakeholder including consortium staff.
∎ Maintain professional relationship with the stakeholders to establish good team harmony.
∎ Working days from Sunday to Thursday with 40 hours per week. This position may require working beyond office hours to attend meetings & other priorities as required by the donor for compliance, annual audit & so on;
∎ As this position is based in the project operation area, at least 70% of the time will be spent on field visits to support the implementation team.
∎ Willingness to ride motorbike for regular field visit.
∎ Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
