Responsibilities & Context:
Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill and premature newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Monitor vital signs (heart rate, respiration, temperature, oxygen saturation) and promptly report abnormalities
Administer medications, IV fluids, and nutrition as prescribed by physicians
Operate and maintain NICU equipment such as ventilators, incubators, CPAP, and phototherapy units
Assist doctors during medical procedures, emergency interventions, and neonatal resuscitation
Ensure infection prevention and control protocols are strictly followed
Maintain accurate and timely patient records, charts, and reports
Educate and support parents regarding newborn care, breastfeeding, and post-discharge instructions
Coordinate with doctors and other healthcare staff to ensure quality patient care
Respond effectively to neonatal emergencies and critical situations
Ensure proper handling, cleaning, and sterilization of medical equipment
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized NICU environment
