Job Context:
∎ UNHCR aims to support the covid-19 response of government of Bangladesh by setting up ICU & HDU in sadar hospital, cox`s bazar to provide care to critically ill patients. UNHCR is looking for eligible candidates as part of the HR requirement for ICU & HDU treating critically ill covid-19 patients. staff who will be recruited seconded to Coxbazar sadar hospital.
∎ Job Location: Sadar Hospital, Cox`s Bazar, Bangladesh
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Accompanying the ICU and HDU rounds during duty hours.
∎ To able to identify sudden changes in patient's medical conditions and inform the duty doctors immediately.
∎ To lead in the planning, implementation and evaluation of individual care plans for the patient and their family considering their physical, social and spiritual needs in all care settings.
∎ Keep accurate records, according to Hospital/ICU/HDU policy.
∎ To use effective interpersonal skills to communicate complex and sensitive information to achieve agreement and cooperation and to overcome any barriers to understanding which may exist.
∎ To support the multidisciplinary team to ensure a responsive service that meets patient's need.
∎ To care for allocated patients, and implement agreed actions, ensuring full communication and documentation of outcomes.
∎ To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide advice and guidance related to complex symptom management, and physiological, social and spiritual needs referring onto the appropriate professional or service accordingly.
∎ To support the team to ensure appropriate safety alerts are cascaded across the organization and actions taken.
∎ To ensure health and safety, infection control and security policies are implemented maintaining a clean, safe and secure environment for patients, visitors and staff.
∎ Strictly maintain IPC protocol and physically available during duty hours
∎ To ensure confidentiality of information pertaining to patients, family members and staff always.
∎ Be responsible for the supervision of a group of junior nurses, allocating work-encouraging staff development, ensuring Hospital policies are followed properly and accurately.
∎ To take an active role to ensure ward nursing roster is covered and planned in advance, including balancing skill mix and providing cover 24.7.
∎ To participate in the development of the service and lead on areas allocated by the ward master.
∎ To plan and organize workload effectively and can prioritize particularly in times of pressure in order to maintain quality of standards.
∎ To work with the ward master to ensure that the ICU/HDU unit achieve KPI's and quality indicators.
∎ To assist in developing clinical standards, policies and procedures supporting best practice and to monitor and review their effectiveness.
∎ To promote effective multi-professional working through diplomacy, tact, and effective communication.
∎ To monitor the use of clinical equipment ensuring staff are provided with training for its
∎ safe and appropriate use. Identify problems or deficits and reporting those in line with Hospital's policy and procedures.
∎ Assist Medical Doctor in conducting health examination including history taking, measurement, treatment, medicine management and dispensing, and collating medical reports and also in performing medical procedure and referral including but not limited to other patient follow up and specimen collection when required.
∎ Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
∎ Document patient care services by updating patient register and other records regularly. Assist Medical Doctor in preparing the daily report for further submission.
∎ Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least three (3) years' experience in relevant clinical fields
∎ Knowledge and experience with working in the field and medical emergency department and Trauma management will be added as advantage.
∎ Effectively applies knowledge on clinical skills, bedside manner, infection control, administering medication, phlebotomy, maintenance etc.
∎ Works effectively with local authorities, stakeholders, and beneficiaries
∎ Required Competencies:

∎ Language proficiency in Bangla Advanced & English Basic.
