Job Context:
∎ UNHCR aims to support the covid-19 response of government of Bangladesh by setting up ICU & HDU in sadar hospital, cox`s bazar to provide care to critically ill patients. UNHCR is looking for eligible candidates as part of the HR requirement for ICU & HDU treating critically ill covid-19 patients. staff who will be recruited seconded to Cox bazar Sadar hospital.
∎ In charge nurse will dispatch the duties of the ward master in absence of ward master
∎ Employment Status: Contractual (Six months contact)
∎ Job Location: Sadar Hospital, Cox`s Bazar, Bangladesh
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Provides excellent managerial leadership and appropriate advice and support to relevant staff in the overall management of the ICU/HDU under supervision of ICU/HDU in-charge.? Maintains nursing operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies (IPC) and procedures.
∎ Takes an active role to ensure ward nursing roster is covered and planned, including balancing skill mix and providing cover 24/7. The duty hours for this position will be in accordance with GoB HRH policy.
∎ To plan and organize workload effectively and can prioritize particularly in times of pressure in order to maintain quality of standards.
∎ Maintains nursing staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
∎ Identify early signs of potential or actual conflict within the multi-professional team and work with others to achieve a solution. Conflict resolution between patients' family and ICU/HDU staff
∎ Teaching junior nursing staff how to explain health conditions to patients, medication with dose intervals and other doctor's recommendation as well as teaching patient, friends, and family to understand self-care skills; answering questions.
∎ Ensures operation of medical and administrative equipment
∎ Protects patients and employees by overseeing implementation of IPC protocols, enforcing medication administration, storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
∎ Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by monitoring confidential information processing.
∎ Maintains nursing supplies inventory by studying usage reports; anticipating needed supplies; approving requisitions and cost allocations.
∎ Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; participating in team problem-solving methods.
∎ Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
∎ Assist and review documentation of patient care services and other records (handover logbook, attendance record) regularly.
∎ Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least one-year work experience as an in-charge nurse in a reputed health facility
∎ Knowledge and experience with working in the field and medical emergency department and management will be added as advantage.
∎ Effectively applies knowledge on clinical skills, bedside manner, infection control, administering medication, phlebotomy, maintenance etc.
∎ Works effectively with local authorities, stakeholders, and beneficiaries
∎ Languages: Bangla: Advanced, English: Basic
