Experience:
Masters in any discipline from any recognized university.
Minimum 3 years of experience in relevant field including 1 year management experience in any health care project. Any third division /class/GPA less than 2.5 in academic career is not eligible for apply.
Ability to work with government and development partners.
Ability to work independently, in a team and in community.
Adequate knowledge on health and social structures of Bangladesh.
Strong administrative, management and motivational skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skill.
Good oral and written communication skill In both Bangla & English.
Good computer skills (MS Office, power point and MS Excel).
Valid Motorcycle driving license and willingness to drive motorcycle.
The Senior Program Officer plays a key role in advancing national and regional efforts to eliminate malaria. This position is embedded within a high-impact public health initiative focused on reducing malaria transmission, improving surveillance systems, and strengthening the capacity of local health programs. The officer will work closely with government agencies, international partners, and community stakeholders to ensure strategic alignment and effective implementation of malaria control and elimination activities.
This is a project-based position. Place of posting is Eidgoan Field Office with frequent field areas visit.
Major Responsibilities:
Prepare monthly action plan according to Malaria Programme plan/ guideline to oversee programme implementation in assigned areas.
Conduct monthly meetings with Health worker/shasthya kormi and equivalent staff to analyse field situation and take necessary steps as required.
Ensure quality diagnosis, treatment and complete follow-up of patient. Also ensure referral and treatment initiation of complicated patients to upazila health complex or other government health facilities.
Conduct frequent field visits to supervise the field staff activities at the community and facility level.
Ensure proper distribution of Insecticide-Treated Nets (ITNs), social behaviour change (SBC) activities and targeted community activities.
Regularly communicate with government health staff and CBO staff to ensure good coordination in field-level activities.
Collect and compile monthly MIS data and send to UHC and line management timely.
Facilitate internal & external monitoring and audits by different stakeholders.
Take proper steps to execute programme in time and to ensure treatment at the community.
Planning and conduct SBC activities as per schedule and guidelines.
Ensure follow-up of each patient and their visit to the physician after detected with TB and update the status to the respective supervisor.
Increase TB case detection in the assigned geographic area and TB success rate as well.
Prepare monthly and quarterly performance report and indent of drugs & logistics and submit to proper channel.
Any assign task by the programme/management/organization.
Support implementation of gender equality and women empowerment at all levels.
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members.
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
Safeguarding and PSEA: To meet the program's objectives for safeguarding and PSEA implementation, make sure team members are protected from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation. serve as a major resource for help, direction, and knowledge on safeguarding for developing a safe workplace. To ensure that safeguarding standards are used in every course of action, team members should practice, advocate, and embrace safeguarding policy concerns.
