3–5+ years of post qualification laboratory experience; supervisory experience preferred

Proficiency with Laboratory Information Systems, electronic reporting, Microsoft Office, data analysis

Role Summary
The Senior Medical Technologist will carry out complex diagnostic testing, ensure lab quality and compliance, lead and mentor junior staff, and act as a technical resource. This position balances hands on work with leadership, quality oversight, process optimization, and strategic growth.
Key Responsibilities
Perform advanced diagnostics on patient specimens following SOPs and quality controls
Interpret and correlate results, highlight abnormal or critical values
Monitor and manage QC/QA systems, validations, and corrective actions
Handle instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and preventive measures
Assist in developing or implementing new assays, automation, or protocols
Train, mentor, and assess staff, trainees, and students
Serve as a technical consultant for complex cases
Maintain documentation, adhere to regulatory/accreditation standards, and prepare for audits
Help plan workflow, staffing, and priorities; act in supervisory capacity when required
Report critical or unusual results, instrument failures or delays to management/clinicians
Enforce laboratory safety, biosafety, and waste handling protocols
Stay up to date on laboratory medicine advances, attend workshops, and conduct internal presentations
