Responsibilities & Context:

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to support the ongoing growth of our Accounting and Finance team. The company is a U.S.-based multinational corporation, and this role requires regular communication with our Parent Company’s Finance & Accounts team located in the United States. The candidate will actively collaborate with them to perform daily operational accounting activities and support the month‑end closing process.

The accountant will be detail-oriented, perform and coordinate accounting duties within the organization, perform account reconciliations, post journal entries, manage daily AR/AP transactions, and perform other accounting duties as assigned.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Assist with maintaining general ledger, check registers, accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventories journals

  • Perform cash management functions to monitor and record cash transactions and reconcile bank accounts

  • Manage daily activities in accounts receivable: AR transactions reconciliations and cash application

  • Manage accounts payable functions to pre and post voucher invoices. Reply to AP related inquiries

  • Record journal entries to the general ledger and ensure records are kept in compliance with GAAP or other basis of accounting.

  • Perform month-end close procedures including preparation and/or review of account reconciliations

  • Record prepaid and accrual invoices by matching revenue and appropriate expenditures

  • Record and reconcile all capital expenditures to the annual capital budget. Review and classify each expenditure for depreciation, based on useful life

  • Assist comptroller on all matters related to computer applications, annual, bank, and review special audits, insurance, and contract renewals

  • Answer questions regarding billing

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field of study

  • Must have a solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Chartered Accountant Certification preferred.

  • 7 years of professional retail/apparel/CPG work experience in accounting and finance

  • Exceptional organizational ability, analytical skills, and attention to detail

  • Strong data analysis skills, advanced use of Excel

  • Proficiency utilizing accounting software (e.g., Multiview, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP)

  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems creatively and initiate action

  • Ability to communicate effectively with different audiences such as staff, executive leadership, and department heads

  • Strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills, and problem-solving skills
