Job Context:
∎ The Sector Lead - Protection and Education role aimed at supporting to develop strategy consistent with the WV BRCR, the organization and the overall child protection and education plan; coordinates the implementation, monitoring and assessment of the projects carried out; writes donor reports and strengthens the child protection and education skills in internal teams and local stakeholders Sector Lead - Protection and Education needs to be specialized in; case management, children separated from their families, psychosocial support work, child labour, gender-based violence and apply INEE and humanitarian standards (including CPMS) to EiE programme design, implementation and monitoring
∎ S/he will work closely with CP & Education coordinators, Education Coordinators, CP & Education Officers, and Education Officer to provide relevant technical expertise and informed support to quality programming with particular emphasis on CP and Education mainstreaming in other sectors, CP case management, child friendly spaces, Early childhood development, basic literacy, Youth Programmes and CP documentation based on evidence of impact and organizational learning. The Sector Lead - Child Protection and Education will support strategic positioning of the WVI CP and Education programming through provision of relevant, information, data and report for strategic external and internal networking and targeted resource mobilization and have vast knowledge and skills of coordinating the CP & Education programme in the field of crisis and CPHA context
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Support DME to plan and conduct internal initial rapid assessment /represent WVI and contribute to interagency assessment processes
∎ Design of CP & Education program based on needs assessment findings of secondary and/ or primary data) and analysis that reach out to the most vulnerable children and develop and implement detailed CP & Education plan
∎ Develop CP & Education procurement plan and provide technical support to POs (for) or develop CP & Education proposals, budget for donor submission
∎ Technical guidance for mainstreaming and integration of CP & Education with other sectors and lead CP & Education programme in consortia.
∎ Provide technical support for CP & Education staff recruitment and partner selection , CP & Education supervision and capacity building through training and on job coaching
∎ Support CP & Education staff recruitment /partner selection and build their capacity through training and on job coaching
∎ Coordinate ,represent WVI and contribute to the CP & Education response coordination system with UN agency or government and INGOs and regular collaboration with CHPA expert of WVI.
∎ Guide the overall response in managing CP information and CP & Education response according to internal and external minimum standards and use assessment and other general trend data and information about children for advocacy with donors and other decision makers according to child information management Interagency Minimum
Additional Requirements:
∎ Proven experience as a team player
∎ Highly developed writing skills (e.g. at level for producing an assessment report or proposal) and strong financial management skills (experience of working within budget constraints) and verbal communication skills
∎ Competent in the use of Microsoft Office computer programs including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
∎ Demonstrated leadership, people management, coaching, mentoring, and team building skills.
∎ Strong problem identification, analytical and solving skills.
∎ Strong competency in proposal & report writing, monitoring and budgeting skills.
∎ Experience working with communities and local governments, INGOs, donors and other key internal and external stakeholders.
∎ Demonstrated ability to meet strict deadlines and work independently and cooperatively with team members in a cross-cultural environment.
∎ Demonstrates cross-cultural sensitivity, flexible worldview, emotional maturity and physical stamina. Ability to exhibit exemplary lifestyle as interpreted in specific local cultural context.
