The initial assessment of all pediatric admitted under the care of pediatrics Department as per hospital policy and ordering of investigation and treatment as per instruction from the registrar

Reassessments are conducted daily for the patients and to see the referral patients and brief the consultants.

All the assessments and reassessment are conducted daily and recorded in the Patients Medical records in the appropriate sections

The resident will also do on call duties as per the department Rota and will look after the patients admitted in the Department

The resident shall attend the emergency in case any such patients present ion the Accident & Emergency Department and brief the registrar and consultant about it and administer treatment accordingly.

He / She should be part of the quality improvement of JCI documentation process of the hospital.

Specific job Description

Assessment of pediatric patients;

Preparing patients for procedures prescribing and calculating weight based medications

Responding quickly to emergencies in the wards and Accident and emergency department;

Explaining treatment and procedures to enable parents/guardians to consent to treatment and doing small procedures and lumber puncture

Engaging in and promoting multidisciplinary teamwork, including working alongside Consultants.
