Responsibilities & Context:
  • To perform call duties in rotation according to the call duty Register maintained by the department.

  • ROMs on duty must attend to a patient immediately.

 

Cognitive Clinical Management:

 

  • Perform and document history & physical examination.

  • Interpret ECG / ECHO / Cath Lab reports.

  • Develops and documents initial plan of care.

  • Writes progress notes.

  • Order appropriate referrals.

  • Order appropriate investigations.

  • Order appropriate medication and other orders.

  • Prepare an appropriate discharge summary.

Daily Follow Ups:

 

  • He/ she is to complete the In-Patient rounds everyday before Consultant round  and fill the case sheets and progress notes without fail.

  • Responsible for providing adequate treatment to the patient as advised. Continually monitor and review patient progress and adjust the management plan when necessary.

  • Shall order investigations as advised by the Consultant and ensure.

  • Shall ensure the necessary cross referrals and communicate the opinion of other specialists to the primary consultant

  • To check the dosage, frequency, route of administrations of all medications, considering all precautions and do fresh orders.

  • To attend to “on call duties” from Emergency department.

  • Shall assist consultant during all procedures: E.g. Angiography, angioplasty.

  • Shall perform minor procedures e.g. central and peripheral venous access.

  • Manage patients in ventilator - invasive and non-invasive

  • To take appropriate initiatives in Medical Emergencies when required.

  • Shall be a team member of Code blue and code orange team.

  • Prepare discharge summaries well in time.

  • Coordinate treatment plan with primary consultants and referral consultants

  • Shall take part in patient and family education along with the Primary consultant.

  • Follow hospital practices and demonstrate initiative aligned to ensuring the safest  possible environment for patients and staff.

  • To attend all clinical meetings, CME and work shops and actively participate in paper presentations.

  • To be part of training program conducted in the hospital and to take continuous initiatives for knowledge and skill up gradation.
