Job Purpose
To lead impact work to transform health professionals’ responses to methanol poisoning in Bangladeshi public health facilities and thereby save lives and improve the health of individuals suffering from methanol poisoning. This project, funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) under the United Kingdom Research and Innovation (UKRI), is based on social science research carried out as part of the UK NIHR RIGHT4 project entitled, “Preventing Deaths from Acute Poisoning in Low- and Middle-Income Countries” (https://www.ed.ac.uk/cardiovascular-science/nihr-acute-poisoning) led by the University of Edinburgh in Scotland, United Kingdom.
Main responsibilities
Organise and conduct national and sub-national reflection and co-design workshops on methanol poisoning and responses (30%)
Design a methanol poisoning response toolkit for the health system (35%)
Pilot methanol poisoning response toolkit (10%)
Carry out impact assessment activities (10%)
Liaise with and maintain relationships with government actors, NGO representatives, stakeholders from the alcohol production sector, and other relevant stakeholders (10%)
Contribute to the overall project activities (event organising, participating in project meetings etc.) (5%)
