Job Context:
∎ NGO Forum for Public Health has been implementing a collaborative research project with Columbia University and Michigan State University focused on Enhancing Informal Risk-sharing and Private Initiative to Mitigate Local Environmental Risks since 2019 for studying the role of risk-sharing and social networks in perception and mitigation of local environmental risks in some parts of Bangladesh. To test these ideas, we have chosen as context a major disaster of natural origin: toxic levels of arsenic in groundwater pumped by millions of private wells across South Asia. The proposed study carried out in the form of a randomized controlled trial (RCT).
∎ The duration of the contract will be until March 31, 2023.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Develop digital/ electronically data collection tools and techniques.
∎ Monitoring field survey and ensure the quality of data.
∎ Prepare the data quality report and share with supervisors and Research officer on regular basis during survey.
∎ Analyze data and present analytical report to Michigan State University (MSU), Columbia University (CU), USA and Research team members.
∎ Participate weekly call in between 7pm to 9pm on Sunday and Thursday with Dr. Prabhat Barnwal, Professor, Michigan State University, USA and Dr. Alexander Van Geen, Professor, Columbia University, USA and other team members.
∎ Other related assigned tasks.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 40 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Academic and/or work experience related to the field of social research in Environmental risk management.
∎ Sound knowledge on research methodology, especially for Randomized Control Trail (RCT)
∎ Use of ArcGIS and STATA in advance level is mandatory.
∎ Experience on CAPI development (Survey CTO)
∎ Proved experience in conducting household level survey, PRA, FGD and case study.
∎ Qualitative and Quantitative data analysis and compilation skill.
∎ Strong verbal, written and presentation skills in English.
